Honeywell's Value Engineering (VE) and Component Engineering (CE) Center of Excellence (COE) is a dynamic collective of professionals dedicated to refining product development through innovative engineering and strategic component selection. Working in tandem with GBE's Engineering and Procurement teams, the VE/CE COE is a global entity tasked with the critical mission of enhancing product margins and driving productivity, thereby securing Honeywell's competitive edge in the global market. Our mandate spans across all Strategic Business Groups (SBGs), with the exception of AERO, ensuring that value engineering and component engineering principles are consistently applied to deliver tangible savings and superior products. As a hub of flexibility and rapid adaptation, the VE/CE COE is Honeywell's strategic response to the "ever-evolving" marketplace demands.
Position Description:
You will be leading the VE/CE COE team to deliver productivity results to sustain Honeywell growth in the marketplace. Use your leadership and technical experience to help Honeywell Technology Solutions deliver innovative solutions to meet the VE CE goals. You will contribute to the Value Engineering function of Honeywell's Sensing and Safety Technologies (SST) products by ideating value opportunities, designing, testing, and validating products from prototype to market. You will be part of a group of highly committed professionals who provide expertise and ensure the success of engineering projects and programs.
You will be accountable to manage VE & CE projects from end to end. Coordinating cross functional teams, identifying and mitigating risks, planning activities, driving team meetings, reporting results to leadership.
You will work effectively across geographical boundaries and act as a change agent.
You will leverage your technical experience and skills to guide teams in the investigation and solution of challenging technical problems.

You will lead, empower, and motivate engineering teams responsible for the design and development of products and systems that meet the evolving needs of our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Day-to-day supervision of and workload management of resources within the VE/CE Engineering team.
  • Recruiting, development, and retainment of talent.
  • Act as VE/CE technical interface with Offering Management, Procurement, and other cross functional teams.
  • Technical guidance for team members and facilitation of technical reviews.
  • Work closely with other functions like V&V, Regulatory, Manufacturing, Quality, and ISC to ensure proper project execution and robust engineering solutions.
  • Meet technical, schedule, and cost constraints of VE/CE projects.
  • Resources and Budget planning for VE/CE department.
  • Ensure and maintain the integrity of all product output from engineering including documentation, revision control, product regulatory testing and approvals, intellectual property opportunities, etc.
  • Ensure deliverables are provided on time to production and with high quality.
  • Manage several projects simultaneously, prioritize, and reprioritize daily (multitasking).
  • Attend product development and other departmental meetings.
  • Will be reporting to global Leader for Sensing and Safety technologies VE CE.

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Engineering degree (Bachelor /Master). Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering preferred.
  • 10+ years total Experience managing, ideating and executing product development, Value Engineering and Component Engineering projects. 4+ years in leading teams.
  • Experience in an industrial environment of large global organization.
  • Experience acting as Coordinator or Technical Lead for Engineering projects.
  • Exceptional Change, Process, Data and Analytics Skills.

WE VALUE

  • Previous experience in Value Engineering and component engineering.
  • DFSS Green Belt.
  • Understand technology. Preferably control instruments, gas detectors.
  • Some experience in engineering.
  • Experience in assembly fabrication.
  • program management skills.
  • Individuals who are self-motivated and able to work with little supervision, who consistently take the initiative to get things done, do things before being asked by others or forced to by events.
  • Ability to convey subtle or complex messages clearly, as appropriate for the topic and audience.
