Job Description
Position Summary
The primary purpose of this role is to manage the relationship between Rockwell Automation (RA) and our contract manufacturers. This role will be facilitating the manufacturing of direct ship ETO solutions. This position is responsible for managing all aspects of contract manufacturing in Mexico. The main responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:
1. Coordinating project execution with 3P Panel shop vendor (project schedules, prioritizing, and forecasting).
2. Strategic Capacity Management / SIOP alignment, be responsible for capacity planning and balancing work based on constraints with our suppliers.
3. Driving supplier performance to meet customer shipment deadlines and achieve target project costs.
4. Ensure quality in accordance with Rockwell workmanship standards and expectations.
5. Establish expectations for business ethics and Environmental Health and Safety.
Key Responsibilities
Functional:
1. Create, maintain, and execute a supplier assessment, and self-assessment, to gauge current and potential suppliers' capabilities to meet RA performance requirements (as well as maintain in a database.)
2. Evaluate new potential suppliers to improve performance or mitigate risk.
3. Participate in the creation of strategic partnership framework agreements.
4. Negotiate RFQ's with current and potential suppliers on pricing and lead-time using a predictive cost model tool.
5. Establish, measure, and review KPIs with suppliers in alignment with RA criteria.
5. Oversees supplier on-time performance, average-order-delivery cycle time, load management, capacity control, and utilization of resources.
6. Collaborate with RA planning functions to manage workload and capacity at suppliers.
7. Monthly review of opportunities (>70% winning chance) and forecast with BU.
8. Weekly revision of load charts and PnP SharePoint dates with the plants
9. Prepares labor estimates and monitors progress towards achieving budgeted goals.
10. Perform other duties as assigned.
Leadership:
1. Ability to collaborate with multiple functions in a matrix organization.
2. Take ownership for the quality and on-time completion of systems manufactured by our suppliers.
3. Manage a weekly communication of project status to all directly impacted groups.
4. Participate in monthly leadership meetings to present current supplier performance as well as corrective actions being taken as required.
5. Collaborates regularly with planning functions to review resources and project load to ensure resources are fully utilized while leveraging contract manufacturers and local solutions centers in order to be competitively cost effective while meeting customer deadlines. Collaborates with suppliers on continuous improvement for delivery, capacity, and cost.
7. Implements new processes internally and with suppliers.
Educational Qualification/ Work Experience:
Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, operations, supply chain, or equivalent technical degree or education.
Command of the English Language – oral and written
Minimum 5 years of experience in a multi-national company.
Minimum 5 years management experience, lead a cooperative effort among members of a project team. Networks with senior internal/external personnel in own area of expertise.
Minimum 5+ years' experience in electrical assembly environment, years' experience in an ETO/Engineered to Order environment is a plus.
Knowledge of project engineering processes and methodologies.
Engagement in ERP/MRP systems (IFS and SAP experience is preferred)
Experience in successful negotiations of legal contract
Experience in continuous improvement using six sigma tools
Proficiency in Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, Power BI).
Currently hold or possess an unrestricted passport, able to travel domestic and international.
