SUPPLIER QUALITY DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER

Deploy and support a Quality Culture within local ABB, by assuring and controlling Quality with systems, tools and teams to exceed customer expectations while ensuring sustainable operations. Supports and maintains the Quality Management System of the local unit. All aspects managed in line with ABB Group/Division/BU guidance. Collaborate with of local functions that impact on the quality results in order to reach the targets for the organizational unit and aiming for world-class level performance.

Your responsibilities

  • Manages operational SUPPLIER QUALITY, including validating the supplier's quality systems and the quality of the supplier's processes.
  • Drives approval of supplier parts, materials and project subcontractor service activities, as applicable; this might include close coordination with other functions/experts and where applicable includes PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) and product surveillance at supplier manufacturing sites.
  • Leads the quick reaction of supply issues related to quality issues, deliveries, non-conforming products, or project services.
  • Leads improvement projects in collaboration with on-site supplier team.
  • Ensures the supplier qualification process is executed in full and ensures the relevant suppliers are and remain fully qualified and compliant.
  • Works with Procurement management as needed to continually improve such processes, including necessary training materials.
  • Ensures suppliers remain in compliance with the ABB Supplier Code of Conduct, ethics and corporate governance, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Ensures required supplier development processes are executed in full to drive continuous improvement of the supplier base.
  • Create, manage, and close Supplier Corrective Actions Requests.

    • Your background

  • Bachelor´s Degree in Electrical Engineering (Mechanical-Electrical, Mechatronics, Electrical Automation or related).
  • 2 years of experience working with suppliers.
  • Knowledge of supplier development, ISO, TS Quality Systems and Core Tools (PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plan, etc.).
  • Experience in quality management and plastic manufacturing.
  • Lean six sigma approach and experience in AutoCAD draws (manufacturing draws).
  • Good negotiation skills and experience in developing relationships with supplier.
  • Availability to travel (30% in Mexico, 1 to 2 per year to USA).
  • Advanced level of English.
