Overview

This position offers Supplier Quality Engineering services for production, Engineering, and PDD. Its primary responsibility is to ensure that new product parts meet the required quality standards. It also evaluates the overall performance of suppliers and promptly reports any quality issues to the supplier. Moreover, it serves as a crucial link between the supplier, purchasing department, production plants, and product development teams. Additionally, attending receipt inspection to address any raw material quality concerns is part of the job. Proficiency in the IPC A610 standard and expertise in electronic components are essential requirements for this role.

Responsibilities

  • Secures and evaluates first supplier samples through SPAP (PPAP).
  • Ensures that the raw material received meets the specifications by creating or modifying inspection instructions.
  • Coord. Coordinate the process of non-conforming material and dispose of the material.
  • Coordinate the draws together with the SQT.
  • Track SCARs.
  • Audit supplier processes.
  • Leads suppliers to improve corrective actions and part quality by developing and using quality tools such as process.
  • Acts as a technical liaison between manufacturing facilities, purchasing and/or product development teams and suppliers dealing with non-conforming products, including resolution of Non-Conforming Materials Reports (NMR) and Supplier Corrective Action Requests(SCAR) as appropriate.
  • Ensures Supplier Quality functions are properly documented to ensure consistency across all divisions and plants, escalating insufficient or inadequate documentation to manager, Supplier Quality.
  • Supervises and supports IQC activities by collaborating with plant management.
  • Manage the performance and development of less experienced engineers and technicians. Ensures that staff prioritize work tasks effectively.
  • Other duties assigned.

Qualifications

  • Completed University Degree: Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical, Industrial or Quality Engineering.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in the field.
  • English 85%
  • Availability to travel.
  • Processes and components of SMT, THT, manual soldering.
  • Experience in IPC A 610. 
  • FMEA, SPC, DOE and GR&R, 8Ds, cause and effect diagrams.
  • Experience in Process Capability Analysis (PCA)
  • GD&T experience (Preferred).
  • Ability to keep up to date with best practices.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Ability to work independently, receiving little instruction on daily work, but receiving general instructions on newly presented tasks.
  • Able to collaborate with other departments.
  • Exercises judgment in selecting evaluation methods, techniques, and criteria to obtain results.
  • Determines methods on new assignments and provides guidance to other personnel
  • Schedule availability.
