DirecciónJOB OBJECTIVESOversee all Well Operations.DEPARTMENT / DIVISION / UNITDrilling LOCATION : LagosFunctionally Reports To : Drilling ManagerSupervises : Drilling Supervisors, Engineers, QA / QC and logisticspersonnelWORKING RELATIONSHIPS : INTERNALPetroleum Engineering, Production, General EngineeringSafety, Well Accounts, and Logistics Departments.
EXTERNAL Contractors, Service companies, APS, NNPC, DPR,JOB DUTIES / ACCOUNTABILITIES Tasks : 1. Supervise all Well Operations, ensuring they are safe and efficient.
2. Oversee interaction of service contractors in well design and operations.3. Review well engineering plans and programs to ensure the objectives can bemet and that the rig can efficiently and safely execute the program.
4. Determine future requirements for drilling equipment and consumables in linewith technical work program and ensure they are available for wells planned.
5. Liaise with the logistic department to ensure effective movement of materials,equipment and personnel.6. Liaise with other departments (e.
g. production and facilities engineering) todiscuss and organize concurrent operations to be done safely and efficiently7.
Obtain statutory approval for all well programs before commencement.8. Check and sign invoices from service contractors.
9. Monitor implementation of drilling program and ensure compliance with wellplans and achievement of agreed KPI’s.10. Work with Drilling Contracts Analyst to ensure drilling / completions contracts areavailable for all equipment / services, and that the contracts are valid in terms ofcost and time.
11. Review all well plans and ensure compliance with Well Delivery Process.12. Ensure Challenge sessions, DWOP sessions, Prespud meetings, NPT and Lessonslearnt meetings etc are held routinely before wells are drilled and afterwards, asapplicable, and that lessons are transferred from well to well.
13. Hold operations meetings as required.ACCOUNTABLY FOR : 1. Ensure operations meetings are held.2. Ensure rig move plans are safe and efficient.
3. Complete execution of wells and that this is done in the most cost effectiveway, giving full consideration to all HSE aspects4.
Ensure all wells are executed in line with the Well Delivery Process.5. Ensure well equipment proposed for drilling and completion are fit for purposeand available in time.
6. Ensure that wells are delivered within budgeted cost and time.7. Lessons learnt are transferred from well to well.8. Ensure all services are provided under approved contracts.
9. Ensure there is adequate logistics to deliver materials to the rig timely.Key Performance Indicators / Performance Goals : 1.
Wells are executed in compliance with the well delivery process2. HSSE standards maintained in all well programs.3. Wells are drilled within budgeted cost and time.
4. Daily Drilling Reports are issued timely.5. Proper records of NPT and lessons learnt are kept and transferred within the program.
6. Services are offered under contract.Financial Dimensions : Well Budgets of $150 - $200 million per year.JOB SPECIFICATIONSEducationQualificationBS degree in Engineering (minimum) and / or recognised industry accreditationProfessionalQualification : Member, Society of Petroleum Engineers.
Member IADC. Attendedindustry courses in well engineering, Well Operations management,project management.Experience 20 yearsAge 45 years (minimum)KEY COMPETENCIES REQUIREMENTSGood technical knowledge of well planning and Well Operationssupervision.
Initiative to proffer solutions to technical problems. Soundknowledge of IADC / API guidelines for Well Operations.Managerial : Excellent organisational skills is essential.
Ability to supervisesubordinates, make presentations and facilitate meetings.Behavioural : Good interpersonal and communications skills are essential.
WORK CYCLE (HOURS / DAYS) : Monday - Friday(7.30 a.m. 5.00 p.m.)6.30 am 5.00 pm daily while on duty. On call after office hours.
