ResponsibilitiesThe Opportunity
This role is responsible for timely and accurate preparation of monthly/quarterly financial statements, lease accounting, BS reconciliation and review, Sector reporting, perform monthly closing GL activities in accordance with PepsiCo reporting rules and support to deliver base business priorities to sustain effective control environment. The role entails supervision of the work performed by the analysts in what refers to the journal entries parking in SAP, ensuring all analyts’ closing activities are carried out, and making changes in the process to ensure that the close of the period is timely completed. He also has interaction with the business units’ control teams and outsourced delivery teams.
Your Impact
As a Chicago Sr Analyst your responsibilities would consist of:
- Timely review of the accuracy of the US GAAP financial statements, Income Statement, Balance Sheet and support monthly HFM submission of Financial Statements for designated business unit or units
- Prepare monthly BFSI Chicago, Quaker Oats Co and related 7% markup and Gatorade concentrate profit related entities financial statements (Balance Sheet and P&L) variance analysis and investigate and explain significant variances (if needed)
- Consolidate monthly financial statement package (includes Balance Sheet, P&L, and account balance supporting documentation) to upload to HFM
- Requires general support to the business unit in the form of various financial analyses in order to assist the business in its controlling and decision making processes
- Run and review of Global Nutrition Group report for BFSI Chicago as per Corporate rules
- Quarterly preparation the BSR analyzes for entity BFSI Chicago and Quaker Oats
- Support financial reporting in HFM for Chicago Export entities
- Generate information for filling out the required FATCA/IRS requirements and US GAAP statutory books
- Ensure timely preparation and submission by his team of monthly, quarterly and annual Corporate reports to Sector Control Team of designated business units
- Provide instructions to analysts to perform reconciliation, accruals, and reserves to ensure the accuracy of financial statements during month end closing
- Prepare / Review journals entries
- Supervise the process to comply with lease accounting rules
- Review monthly balance sheet account reconciliations for assigned accounts – maintain a list of identified variances and ensure that they are resolved timely by the responsible analysts
- Prepare and review variance explanations of Balance Sheet and P&L accounts variance report
- Ensure compliance to Global Control Standards (GCS) and ensure that key controls achieve “effective” on a quarterly basis. Identify opportunities to modify the actual tests sripts and the wording of the control activities description.
- Support and provide input for audits as well as external US-GAAP and statutory audits
- Review tax related reportings e.g. tax packages, CbCr Reporting, Calculation of deferred taxes
Who Are We Looking For?
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
Experience
- Work experience of minimum 2 years in GL / Reporting department
- Wide range of knowledge related to GL and Reporting, understanding of accounting in general (D/C, rules)
- Fluent in English
- Knowledge of US GAAP and / or local GAAP
- Ability to lead well within a team environment
- Knowledge of reporting tool HFM and automation like FDM
- Experience of Financial Reporting Systems and Databases e.g.,SAP/ Oracle
- Must be self-motivated
- Skills to identify problems and proactively propose solutions
- Delegation and follow up skills
- Supervision of the work performed by others
- Resolution of problems oriented in meeting deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills as individual will be required to interact with high-level employees, not only in Mexico, but internationally as well
- Proper delegation of tasks in accordance with the skills of the team he supervises.
- Take control of the agenda, activities and open items resolution
- Expert in his field to resolve questions or finalize open items.
