DirecciónThe Ford Product Development and Quality | New Model Programs organization seeks a new team member to accelerate our business through rapid software design, development, testing and deployment. Our business IT team owns, manages and extends multiple applications with a user base around the globe, and works with key business partners to understand their emerging business trends and provide rapid solutions for their critical needs.
Employees may be required to work in the office either a set number of days each week in a hybrid work environment depending on specific work assignments, training requirements and/or collaboration opportunities. Full remote employees will also be considered for this position, but please recognize our organization is subject to changes in company and regional direction.
As we’re a small team for the complexity of applications we support, on-call, off-hours, and weekend support may be required on a rotational basis.
In this position, your work will be used directly by Chiefs, Directors and Vice Presidents of the company. You’ll have the opportunity to learn both legacy and emerging technologies to support our business while expanding your technology portfolio.

You'll have…
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, MIS or a related field
- 3+ years of experience in application design and development experience, with a preference for JavaScript, Java or similar languages
- Ability to deliver on commitments made within an Agile development cycle
Even better, you may have…
- Experience migrating moderate/complex applications to Angular/Node.js
- Experience writing complex SQL Queries from one or more databases (SQL Server, Oracle, BigQuery)
- Development Technology expertise with Java, JSON, SQL Server, Python and/or JavaScript
- Knowledge of Agile development, DevSecOps practices, APIs/microservices and infrastructure tools (Terraform, Tekton)
- Understanding of Cloud Architecture, Cloud Security; Cloud platforms, Automation (Ideally Google Cloud Platform)
- Strong communication skills in English
- Intelligence, and drive; must be able to deliver work commitments in a self-driven manner within a fast-paced environment in a key area of the automotive business
- Ability to quickly learn and apply new technologies and operating practices
Responsibilities:
- Learn to use, code in, and leverage our proprietary rapid prototyping solution while expanding our production applications and capabilities.
- Migrate our Java Liberty application to Angular/Node.js while leveraging HTML/CSS and client-side JavaScript plus the Ford-required infrastructure, code quality, compliance and CI/CD pipeline tools.
- Design, code, test and deploy software capabilities, reports and dashboards utilizing our infrastructure and technology platforms, including application platforms/languages, utilities, databases, etc. (both cloud-based and on premises). This may include responsive web and mobile applications that work across different screen sizes.
- Build entire features across all layers (UI/UX, database, services) and build new REST services.
- Provide ongoing maintenance, support and enhancements to existing systems and platforms as a secondary responsibility/during vacation coverage.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with business users, project managers and other engineers to achieve rapid solutions for our complex business.
- Provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Participate in team efforts to elevate technology and consistently apply best practices.
