The Buyer/Planner (Procurement Specialist) position requires a highly motivated and results-driven individual to coordinate inventory planning and replenishment of raw materials and MRO requirement activities across multiple product lines, ensuring optimal results in accordance with core values, corporate polices and customer service level goals. Assignments are relatively complex and generally involve planning activities for products and/or production processes where the manufacturing process is variable.
DUTIES
- Manages raw material supply , optimizing alignment with production and customer order requirements, maintaining targeted inventory levels goals
- Provides material forecasts to supplier and assists suppliers in developing material plans to support business goals
- Plan, execute and manage purchase orders and purchase order backlog (entire cycle: issue/expedite/de-expedite/date changes/pricing/accuracy -> through invoicing)
- Coordinate material requirements with production schedules, customer requirements and provide feedback to scheduling and management as required.
- Participate in problem-solving efforts to resolve rejections, supplier corrective actions, receiving paperwork issues, invoicing issues
- Provide informed input and solutions to management for any constraints impacting production, customer order fulfillment.
- Manage and update ERP system planning data for assigned product lines
- Coordinates with quality, manufacturing, production, and sales ensuring purchasing specifications are clearly defined.
- Proactively seek new opportunities, ideas, techniques and materials to drive product innovation with both new and existing suppliers.
- Manage supplier relationships to ensure quality, cost, delivery, and responsiveness targets are achieved
- Accountable for integrity of records management for assigned work
- Strong attention to detail, high level of organization, and analytic skills to convert data into meaningful information for decision making purposes
- Contribute to the preparation and execution of key supply chain projects and tasks
QUALIFICATIONS
- In-depth understanding of purchasing concepts, principles and generally accepted practices
- Understanding of basic manufacturing concepts
- Effective problem identification and solution skills; team and customer oriented
- Positive attitude and highly motivated with sense of urgency; desire to grow
- Comfortable in a fast-paced environment; results driven/strong initiator
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Advanced Excel Skills (Macros, Pivot Tables); Proficient in other Microsoft Office Suite programs; Microsoft D365/PowerBI experience a plus
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Operations, or related field
- APICS or other supply chain related certificate desired
BUSINESS TRAVEL
Occasional business travel to Tecate, Mexico (manufacturing plant)

COMPENSATION
The base pay range for this full-time exempt position is $66,560.00- $75,000.00 per year plus benefits. Pay ranges are determined by various factors, including role, experience, and location. The pay range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire base pay rates for this position. Within the range, actual individual compensation is determined by various factors, including location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
