Responsibilities

The Opportunity

This role is supporting for timely and accurate financial reporting, fixed assets, lease accounting (CoStar), audit support, perform monthly closing activities in accordance with PepsiCo reporting rules and support to deliver base business priorities to sustain effective control environment. The role entails interaction with the business units’ control teams and outsourced delivery teams.

Your Impact

As an Control & Reporting Analyst-Global your responsibilities would consist of:

  • Prepare timely and accurate US GAAP financial statements, Income Statement, Balance Sheet and support monthly HFM submission of Financial Statements for designated business unit or units
  • Perform reconciliation, journals entries (incl. review), accruals and reserves to ensure the accuracy of financial statements during month end closing
  • Support Fixed Assets accounting
    • Ensure that all asset transfers, additions, disposals, adjustments, enhancements, revaluations are updated and processed accurately
    • Ensure correct valuation of fixed assets to avoid misstatement in the financial statements
    • Ensure governance through ensuring processes are in place and adherence to PepsiCo policies
  • Support for capital project accounting
    • Review and capitalization of construction in progress
    • Monitor and track capital projects and budget spending
  • Support validation of physical inventory results
  • Support for Lease Accounting (Costar)
  • Cash flow forecasting / analysis (input for accounts related to treasury, fixed assets and lease)
  • Prepare variance explanations of Balance Sheet and P&L accounts variance report
  • Prepare / review monthly balance sheet account reconciliations for assigned accounts - identify and investigate all variances and ensure that they are resolved timely (Blackline)
  • Ensure compliance to Global Control Standards (GCS) and ensure that key controls achieve “effective” on a quarterly basis
  • Support and provide input for audits as well as external US-GAAP and statutory audits
  • Ownership and coordination of ad hoc projects

Qualifications

Who Are We Looking For? 

Education

  • Master’s degree in Accounting or related business experience

Experience

  • 2+ years of financial accounting/controlling/ operations experience
  • Fluent in English
  • Experience of Financial Reporting Systems and Databases e.g.,SAP
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project); ability to create complex formulas in Excel
  • Intellectual capacity to link accounting concepts to underlying financial data systems in order to understand, analyse and interpret actual results and troubleshoot any issues with the data
  • Ability to integrate well within a team environment
  • Action and result oriented, attentive to deadlines
  • Must be detail-oriented, a quick learner, and self-motivated
  • Exhibit a strong ‘can-do’, ‘will-do’ attitude and strong sense of urgency in meeting deadlines.
  • High level of flexibility and being able to cope with stress
