Your team responsibilities

We are searching for a highly motivated, hardworking, and eager to succeed individual to be part of Model Engineering (ModEng) team. This position is for an Associate to be based at MSCI Mexico offices either Monterrey or CDMX. The person would join a team of engineers located around the globe.

The role is focused in working closely with engineers and financial analysts that consume the platform supported by ModEng. The platform supported includes software developed in various technologies such as Java, Matlab, Python, and Shell scripting, running in infrastructure from physical Data Centers and in the Cloud (Azure and GCP).

Your key responsibilities

· DevOps: The engineer maintains and improves the practices, processes, and infrastructure to facilitate the shipping of high quality software to production environments.

· Production stability and Support: The engineer understand the various applications running in the production environment and is capable to provide a solution in case there’s a failure. In the same manner, the information generated by failure is used to find long-term solutions for them and prevent re-occurrence.

They need to be strong in quantitative skills, be self-organized and feel comfortable adjusting seamlessly to multiple demands and shifting priorities in an agile, fast-paced, demanding global environment.

Your skills and experience that will help you excel

Specific Knowledge & Skills:

· Shell scripting, Matlab, Java, Python, SQL experience required or equivalent technologies.

· IaaS in the Cloud, preferably Azure or GCP.

· Excellent analytical and quantitative skills are a must.

· Strong skills in test-driven/quality oriented SDLC.

· Attention to detail with the ability to see the bigger picture and achieve the proper balance between 100% accuracy and timeliness.

· Speaks and writes clearly and effectively in English even when relating complex information.

Desired Experience:

· 3+ years of solid software development experience.

· Experience in Linux Platforms.

· Experience with Cloud solutions preferably IaaS.

· Experience working in an Agile environment.

· Experience on quantitative or any form of complex algorithms.

· Software development experience within the financial industry is a strong plus.
