About you and this role - What you would do in this role

Dow has a great opportunity as Geographic Communications Specialist based in Mexico City (MEX). The Geographic Communications Specialist role is, under some direction, responsible for developing and implementing multi-channel internal and external communications plans that protect, build and drive Dow’s reputation and brand with key stakeholder groups in a country or at a site; support business objectives and priorities and drive growth; foster relationships and build goodwill for Dow at community levels; and drive employee engagement and alignment. 

  Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements targeted integrated communication plans supporting corporate business priorities as well as countries of the North Region and site-specific objectives. 

  • Implements local employee communications strategy and plan; manages communication channels to employees (e-mail, newsletter, Intranet, digital billboards, video broadcast, communication sessions, social media, etc.).

  • Develops and updates key messaging, speeches, and presentations. 

  • Coordinates and prepares meetings, briefings, and communication sessions. 

  • Leadership in communication campaigns for employees. 

  • Supports the organization of corporate events. 

  • Implements local CSR programs and related communications activities.  

  • Supports and implements community outreach programs for the countries of the North Region and manages the communications flow with the volunteers, non-profit partners, and the community 

  • Supports local media relations outreach, prepares briefings, develops key messages and shapes talking points.   

  • Ensures social media is an integrated part of the communications approach. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in communication sciences, public relations, journalism, marketing, digital marketing or related. 

  • At least 3-5 years of experience in the area of communication and public relations in a company 

  • Strong written communication and speaking skills; proficient in English writing and speaking. ​  

  • Writing skills are essential.

  • Understanding and knowledge of modern communications technologies. 

  • Organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities. 

  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills. 

  • Proactive and self-motivated to deliver at a high level of excellence with ever increasing demands. 

Your preferred qualifications include

  • Basics of design and video editing  

  • Supplier management 

  • Budget management
