Instructional Designer, Human Resources / Corporate Learning and Development

Do you have a successful track record employing Instructional Design methodologies to propose and implement learning solutions for software product training? Have you been responsible for the design of training curricula? Are you a master of Adobe Captivate, Articulate, Camtasia and other eLearning tools utilized for training content development? Do you have strong project management skills and the ability to keep up with multiple projects in a fast-paced environment? Are you a team player with good communication skills? If yes, we're looking you.

Join our team! We are looking for an experienced, creative, and forward-thinking learning professional based in Mexico to design and develop training curriculum and content that will meet the needs of Thomson Reuters employees around the world, supporting the Enterprise Learning and Development team.

About the Role

In this opportunity as Instructional Designer, you will: 

  • Participate in curriculum design, instructional design, content writing and course development for different delivery methods, including instructor-led training and eLearning.
  • Participate in learning needs analysis, curriculum mapping, design, writing, development, testing, implementation, and evaluation of training materials.
  • Design and develop cutting edge, graphically rich, engaging learning deliverables for all delivery types (i.e. instructor led, eLearning, etc.).
  • Exercise sound judgement when determining appropriate learning solutions, training delivery methods and evaluation criteria, based on inputs, objectives, and desired outcomes.
  • Understand content structure and how curricula, courses, modules, learning objectives and assessment questions are designed to transfer and validate knowledge.
  • Collaborate closely with key stakeholders, subject matter experts, management, and other parts of the overall business.

About You

You’re a fit for the role if your background includes:

  • BS degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology or similar
  • Fluent English is a must.
  • At least 3 years of Instructional Design experience in a training, educational, and/or development group; Experience with similar industry and customer-facing training focus preferable.
  • Advanced knowledge of multimedia authoring tools such as Adobe Captivate, Articulate Storyline and Rise, Camtasia, Adobe Creative suite, and other digital learning authoring tools.
  • Ability to design or create dynamic and engaging content that incorporates both design elements and effective learning principles for an optimum learning experience.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to successfully multi-task, set priorities, and meet timelines.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of applied adult learning theory, instructional design, organizational metrics, learning management systems, and organizational development strategies.
  • Strong interpersonal skills including proven ability to collaborate with teams and individuals at all organizational levels.
  • Strong problem-solving skills; ability to see details and larger picture.
  • Visual design skills and the ability to storyboard.
  • Motivation and drive to experiment and try new ways of sharing learning content with learners.
