Job Description Summary:

The World Ready notifications engineering team is seeking a Software Engineer passionate about solving technical challenges and enabling the notifications PayPal products.
In this role, you will work with a team of engineers and build software for both PayPal developers and users. You will be responsible for designing and developing highly scalable back-end and UI systems and tools to manage the PayPal notifications content. You are self-motivated, have excellent design instincts, and enjoy working with multi-functional teams.
The notifications engineering team which is part of the Worldready team at PayPal is responsible for creating and serving user notifications content to millions of PayPal users. We are looking for a talented Software Engineer with a passion for building great developer experiences and capable of thriving in a fast-paced and fun work environment.

You will build high-performing systems and tools from the ground up in close partnerships with various teams. You will also possess keen judgment in selecting technologies and building the right solution for the meaningful challenges we get to tackle here.

What you need to bring:

• A successful candidate will be a strong engineer who can work in a high-performing team, creatively balance high-quality delivery with customer focus to meet business needs, has excellent communication skills, and has a continuous record of delivering results in a fast-paced environment. 
• 8+ years of experience designing, developing, and delivering software related to platforms using Node.js, ReactJS, and Java. Preferred experienced full-stack developer 
• Follows design principles of Software Engineering and systems and builds features to improve the platform and tools' availability, scalability, latency, and efficiency.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor a team of engineers, fostering collaboration, knowledge sharing, and skill development.
• Proven experience guiding team members in adopting best practices and adhering to coding standards.
• Deep understanding of software architecture and the ability to make informed decisions on technology choices and system design.
• Proactively identifies opportunities for architectural improvements and collaborates with the team to implement them.
• The candidate has hands-on experience designing and developing scalable web services and platforms. 
• Strong experience in some of the following technologies is highly desirable: Java, Node.js, ReactJS, and scripting. 
• Takes pride in working on projects to successful completion involving a wide variety of technologies and systems
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences.
• Work cross-functionally with other engineering teams, QA, and project management teams.
