What you will do
As the Director of Operational Excellence, you will be responsible for improving the efficiency, effectiveness and quality of the IT function. You will lead and run Operational Excellence initiatives, drive continuous improvement of the SPQ function, and ensuring alignment and integration across all levels and domains. Reporting to the Senior Director of SPQ, you will support various transformation initiatives, bringing energy, grit and enthusiasm for change. You will build positive relationships with senior IT leaders, including our Global Chief Information and Chief Digital Officer, and other key partners, providing insights and recommendations to optimize operational performance and outcomes. You will also engage and collaborate with external organizations to benchmark and leverage standard processes, continuously improve operational execution and evolve our ways of working as our company grows.
In this role, you will work closely with the SPQ Leadership Team and the Senior Leader community in Global IT drive consistency, improvement and optimize efficiency in our function. You will be responsible for SPQ’s operating model.
You will actively research standard methodologies and have a passion for organizational change, and you’ll use your excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills to deliver change. You have a customer-centric attitude, and you thrive in a fast-paced, agile and collaborative environment
You will be given their own remit of responsibility and will be expected to use initiative and a self-driven approach, with the opportunity to identify and suggested continuous improvement opportunities.
ABOUT YOU
- Educated to degree level standard or equivalent (business technology or related degree)
- Experience defining and aligning architectural roadmaps and strategies to business strategy
- Experience with rationalisation, consolidation and integration across business domains using a formal framework
- Experience of strategic justification phase work – product evaluation, business case formulation
- Experience influencing key senior stakeholders in business and IT to adopt change or innovative solutions
- Experience defining and developing components of an Enterprise Architecture practice
- Experience of leading and negotiating with third party suppliers
- Experience running, developing and leading a team of people in different geographies
ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Ensure consistent practices, standards and processes are understood and adopted across SPQ
- Work to identifying optimisation opportunities across the function
- Lead the operations of the SPQ Leadership Team and be an active member of the Global IT Operational Excellence community
- Find opportunities for re-use, share, speed, de-duplicate, simplify – within SPQ and with IT partners
- Identify and deploy continuous improvement opportunities
- Support consistency of delivery approaches and methods both within SPQ and with overall AZ IT approaches/methods
- Provide input to SPQ strategy
- Supervise key SPQ strategic priorities and breakthroughs – identifying continuous opportunities
- Support annual financial/budget planning
- Support Tier process
- Facilitate cross-SPQ engagement and broader ecosystem events
- Develop and deploy SPQ communications and partner engagement
- Handle SPQ operating model and services portfolio and optimize quarterly operations reviews
