Scope of Leadership Role
The Operations Manager is a hands-on leader of overall production operations who will drive day to day shop floor performance over multiple value streams at Location over 3 shifts, + 300 associates and $60M+ business. This critical role will be responsible for ensuring the manufacture of products in planned quantities, at budgeted cost, and of desired quality while following required safety protocols.
The Operations Manager will also actively support Regal Rexnord Business System (RBS) initiatives to enable continuous improvement throughout the manufacturing process and elevate the site to a ‘center of excellence’ for the Gearing Division and a destination of choice for external customers. Directly reporting to this position are the Production Chief and Maintenance Chief.
Key Responsibilities:
Production Management/Maintenance
- implement long-term operations strategy which results in sustainable Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost.
- Align strategic initiatives (including new product development, new product introduction, equipment transfer) that achieve financial goals.
- Build processes and structure to support improvement and sustain gains.
- Understand current and future product needs and develop plans, cost estimates, and schedules for integrating these needs into existing manufacturing activities. Manage product movement in and/or out of internal operations as business needs change.
- Oversee and lead analysis for maximum efficiency.
- Monitor and oversee Equipment’s uptime/downtime, corrective/preventive/TPM program, to make data driven decisions and drive problem solving activities.
- Ensure compliance of Company’s Safety Policy to facilitate a safe working environment and achieve related EHS metrics.
- Actively lead broader production team driving positive culture.
- Lead activities and projects to support continuous improvement.
Required Education / Experience / Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Operations Management, or a technical discipline is required. Advanced degree is a plus.
- 7+ years in manufacturing with at least 3 years of leadership experience in a minimum of one of the following areas is required: Production, Materials, Engineering, Quality, Continuous Improvement.
- Advanced knowledge of production processes, machinery , assembly lines and production standards.
- Strong communication skills
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Bilingual English - Spanish
