Summary

The Packaging Coordinator CI will provide a critical leadership role for the successful identification, development and execution of packaging operational CI projects. He/She will work closely with the key stakeholders to facilitate decision making, remove roadblocks and outline risks to drive operational solutions. Responsibility includes Mexico Supply Chain optimization, CI strategy and portfolio development and oversight. He/She will lead prioritization of resources (people and capital) based on brand portfolio roles and business priorities, getting the right resources involved to quickly investigate opportunities, make decisions and bring resolution to problems ensuring appropriate involvement across key functions.

Back Up: Packaging Coordinator

Responsibilities:

CI Pipeline
• Lead the identification, development and execution of Packaging Optimization CI strategy and portfolio.
• Lead cross-functional teams to outline operational feasibility assessment of savings, implementation timing and capital requirements.
• Assure technical operational readiness and identify & communicate operational risks. Lead resolution of issues and development of contingency plan.

Supervision
• Direct, manage, and supervise the organization to delivering all packaging CI developments in Mexico and export markets.
• Ensure projects are completed within committed deadlines and deliver against the overall business expectations and quality.
• Conduct Performance Management Reviews and career path discussion.

• Work closely with Procurement group to manage vendor selections and project execution, including strategy material and supplier definition, auditing and qualifying the vendors. Work with QRC to communicate and maintain The Hershey Company’s quality processes.

• Evaluate opportunities to offer Innovation relevant to all Hershey’s categories. Maintain and up-to-date knowledge of the developments with the Region as well as trends in global packaging to include sustainable and renewable packaging materials for possible applications within The Hershey Company. This incorporates reviewing domestic and international trade journals, participating in professional societies, attending trade shows and seminars, consulting suppliers, and auditing their facilities. Also included is active engagement with other regions (U.S., Canada and AEMEA) to identify and leverage synergies.

Minimum knowledge and skills

• Knowledge and understanding of plant operations and the correlation to operating budgets, product costs and total delivered costs
• Extensive theoretical and practical knowledge of packaging and its principles. • Knowledge about packaging equipment • Basic knowledge about food preservation • Good manufacturing practices (GMP's)
• Working knowledge of Hershey operations including R&D, Plant and GMA Operations, and total supply chain through customer delivery
• Proven analytical skills
• Strong financial and business mindset
• Exceptional planning and organizational skills
• Proven leadership capabilities with ability to lead cross-functional teams
• Strong oral and written communications skills
• Exceptional skills in managing multiple priorities
• Strong research and analytical skills

Education

Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Industrial Design, or related fields.

Experience

Minimum of 5 years progressive experience in an operations role
