HSBC Global Procurement has an exciting opportunity to join its new Supplier Management team. This role will be integral to embedding supplier management best practice across HSBC by spearheading the development of a standardised framework and execution of global improvement programmes around all aspects of Supplier Management.  

 

Principal Accountabilities:

·         A deep understanding of supplier segmentation methodologies

·         The ability of carry out, interpret and present supplier reasearch with meaningful management information and insights

·         Delivery of supplier performance management and enhancement

·         Commercial accumen and expertise in contract management 

·         Proactive application of governance models to manage supplier relationships

·         Development of strategic supplier relationships through colaboarative working, openness and trust

·         Joint value creation across your managed supply base

·         A track record of stimulating and managing innovation

·         Supply chain risk identification, analysis and mitigation

·         Use of relevant measures to demonstarte ROI of supplier management initiatives and programmes  

·         An understanding of regulatory compliance in relations to supplier management in the financial services industry

·         By introducing consistency to supplier management, the role holder will work with colleagues across to maximise the value of HSBC’s supplier relationships.   

·         The job holder will form a part of a small, specialist central Supplier Management (SM) team, and will interact with all areas of Global Procurement, and their respestive Global Business or Function. We are seeking a flexible, self starter with outstanding communictaion and engagement skills who will build cross functional, and cross supplier, relationships. The successful individual will work autonomously to deliver a step change in supplier management practices across the organisation. They will be a stategic partner to the business and bringing together diverse stakeholders, ensuring their suppliers are managed professionally and consistently.

Requirements:

  • Employ professional practices to achieve tangible change in supplier management practices and demonstrate the effect from a value ‘bottom line’ and risk / control perspective
  • Lead and influence senior stakeholders across the Business to support and role out SM framework
  • Demonstratable expereince of effective contract, commercial, and service management
  • Support the delivery of Supplier SLAs, negotiation of contract terms and dispute resolution
  •  Question the business where required in order to push the boundaries of current thinking around SM for example, the practical use of value targets for post contract activity
  • Continually drive for greater visibility and oversight of the businesses most important suppliers.
  • Make good use of data to drive control and management of key strategic suppliers
  • Support the development of mid-to long term SLAs to achieve service improvement
