Main objectives: Leader who oversees the production process, coordinating all activities to ensure production schedules are met on time and at cost with the proper balance of human and equipment resources.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the production/manufacturing related activities to achieve production schedules on time in a fast-growing environment.
- Monitor team member turnover and identify key factors that can be improved and make improvements (Attrition Plan)
- Create and lead an Operations team (including personal development plans, setting KPI's, etc.)
- Lead and implement operational improvement strategies for productivity, quality, safety, 5S, cost savings and training.
- Monitor work to meet unforeseen circumstances, control workflow to ensure maximum use of available capacity and effective use of labor, tools, and equipment.
- Execute/Support A3/8D/PDCA for Scrap and material variance and ensure its implementation.
- Lead 5S activities, housekeeping and involved in recycling programs.
- Drive improvement initiatives in key metric areas, manage production flow, staffing schedule and resources to budget and plan.
- Responsible for balanced production lines
- Supervises and controls the cost with opportunities aimed at increasing staff productivity.
- Proposes new methodologies to increase staff productivity.
Knowledge Requirements
- Strong knowledge in fabrication and assembly process
- Ability to drive different departments towards common goal.
- Experience managing high production volumes.
- Master production schedule Management
- Ability to manage tight deadlines.
- Strong knowledge of PFMEA/SPC/PDCA/8D’s
- Experience with ERP/MRP Systems
- Bilingual Spanish - English (85% - 90%)
Education and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree completed – Engineering, Business Administration, Mathematics, Humanities
- Minimum 3 years previous experience managing production department.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the manufacturing industry, preferably in plastics.
