Regional Demand Planner Americas

About the job

RHI Magnesita is looking for a dynamic Regional Demand Planner Americas. This role can sit anywhere in North or South America. Ideally though the role will sit in York, PA, Tampa, Florida or Ramos Arizpe, Mexico. As the Regional Demand Planner, you will play a pivotal role in forecasting and analyzing market demand, collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop accurate demand plans and continuously improve the planning process and tools. Your expertise in demand planning and market analysis will contribute to our operational efficiency, customer satisfaction, and overall business success.

Tasks will include:

Demand Forecasting: Develop accurate demand forecasts for the assigned region by analyzing historical data, market trends, and customer insights. Collaborate with sales, marketing, and production teams to obtain input and align on forecast assumptions.

Demand Planning and Analysis: Utilize demand forecasting tools and methodologies to generate demand plans. Analyze demand patterns, sales forecasts, and market dynamics to identify risks, opportunities, and areas for improvement.

Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) or Integrated Business Planning (IBP): Contribute to the S&OP/IBP process by providing demand-related inputs and insights. Participate in S&OP/IBP meetings to discuss demand plans, address challenges, and make informed judgements.

Collaborative Forecasting: Work closely with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to gather input, validate forecasts, and enhance forecast accuracy. Build strong relationships and establish open lines of communication for effective collaboration.

Market Analysis: Stay updated on industry trends, competitive landscape, and market dynamics. Leverage market research, monitor customer behavior, and identify emerging demand patterns to drive informed decision-making.

Performance Tracking and Reporting: Monitor forecast accuracy, demand plan adherence, and key performance indicators (KPIs). Generate regular reports and provide insights to management, highlighting areas of improvement and potential risks.

Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process enhancements, system improvements, and automation to streamline demand planning activities. Collaborate with IT and cross-functional teams to implement changes and increase efficiency.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with sales, marketing, supply chain, and finance teams to align on demand planning objectives and ensure integration across functions. Proactively communicate with stakeholders to manage expectations and resolve issues.

Compliance and Ethics: Adhere to all relevant company policies, industry regulations, and ethical standards. Maintain data integrity, confidentiality, and security in demand planning activities.

About you

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Master's degree or professional certifications (e.g. APICS) are a plus.
  • 6-8 years of experience in demand planning or a related field, preferably in a global corporation.
  • Previous experience in demand planning, supply chain, or related roles within the refractory industry or a similar manufacturing sector is preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in demand forecasting tools and techniques.
  • Excellent data analysis and interpretation abilities, with advanced proficiency in MS Excel or other data analysis software.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and demand planning software (e.g., o9, SAP, Oracle, JDA, or similar).
  • Knowledge of supply chain concepts, inventory management, and S&OP/IBP processes.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively engage with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with the ability to handle complex data sets and manage multiple priorities.
  • Problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identify and address demand planning challenges.
  • Adaptability and resilience in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Fluency in Portuguese is a plus.
