This is a full-time, permanent, non-virtual position based in Ciudad de Mexico, Mexico.

This position is designed exclusively for university bachelor's degree graduates in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, System Engineering or related field, who have completed their study program in the last 12 months.

As Software Development Engineer(s), selected candidate(s) will have the chance to have an impact on thousands of Amazon customers (from buyers and sellers, to Amazon employees) while working with industry-leading technologies. Amazon's LATAM Software Development Engineering organization is growing and we're looking for Software Engineer(s) with technical coding/programming academic background who thrive on learning from complex problems and are able to face challenges while working with multiple technical teams at Amazon.

The selected candidate(s) is expected to contribute to all parts of the Software Development and deployment lifecycle, including but not limited to: design, development, documentation, testing and operations. They will be an integral part of a team that encourages experimentation and innovation on behalf of our customers. This role will directly participate in building and correcting software in partnership with other developers within the organization.
Within this role, selected candidate(s) will not only code, but also drive the direction of the software architecture, and team best practices.

Key job responsibilities
- Solving problems that center around scale, impacting the user experience of thousands of Amazon customers.
- Owning software architecture, coding and technical designs.
- Writing quality, maintainable code and provide/receive peer code-review feedback.
- Collaborate with technical teams to define and improve user experience.
- Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications and tools owned by your team.

A day in the life
Alongside their technical team, selected candidate(s) will be responsible for delivering production-ready code that will be used by thousands of Amazon customers, and own end-to-end customer experience of the services and features that are built. As an SDE I on this team, you will play a pivotal role in the following:
- Work with the team to help drive business decisions.
- Design, implement, test, deploy and maintain innovative software solutions to drive services optimizations, cost, and security.
- Use software engineering best practices to ensure a high standard of quality for all of the team deliverables.

About the team
Prior applying, please consider:
- Per Return to Office (RTO) guidance, selected candidate(s) will be required to work in a hybrid model: at least three days per week from Amazon corporate building in Ciudad de Mexico, Mexico. - Amazon is a multinational technology company with English as its core business language and your hiring team may be located in different jurisdictions. CVs must be submitted in English in order to be eligible for consideration.

We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:

Mexico City, DIF, MEX

- Completed university bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, System Engineering or related field in the last 12 months (or currently enrolled in last year of bachelor's study program).
- Experience with programming languages as: Java, HTML/CSS, Python, SQL, C, C++.
- Proficiency in data structures, algorithms, arrays, hash tables and graphs, problem solving and root-cause analysis.
- Advanced English proficiency B2+ or higher.
