What does a great Senior Engineering do?
Inspire: As a Senior Developer, you will be at the helm, driving our team to deliver groundbreaking projects. Your leadership skills will be your compass, and you will inspire your colleagues to achieve greatness.
Shape the Future: Your fingerprints will be all over the applications and APIs that power our industry. You will design, code, and review, ensuring that our software is robust and scalable, setting the standard for excellence.
Estimate and Execute: Your expertise will shine as you identify technical tasks and provide project estimates. You will be the mastermind behind project planning, ensuring smooth sailing from start to finish.
Agile Champion: Facilitating scrum meetings, grooming, daily standups, and retro meetings will be second nature to you. Your agile contribution will keep our projects on track and our team in sync.
Responsibilities include:
• Coding
• Design and Review
• Responsible for driving and supporting the team to deliver projects
• Responsible for identifying technical tasks and providing estimates for projects
• Facilitate scrum meetings, grooming, daily standup, retro meetings
Who we are looking for in this role:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or a related discipline
• 5+ years of Software Development experience with a successful record of developing and deploying quality software products.
• 5+ years of experience working with development of applications using Java/J2EE, RESTful services, Cloud technologies such as OpenShift.
• Experience developing web applications and web services.
• Experience of web services (Examples: Microservices, RESTful web services, XML, JSON).
• Knowledge of SQL and relational databases (Examples: Oracle, MySQL)
• Experience working with one or more cloud services (Openshift).
• Experience with standard CI / CD strategies & technologies (GitHub Actions)
• Understanding Github, managing branches, pull requests and common workflows.
• Knowledge of Linux Environments & travel domain experience would be added advantageous.
Preferred experience with:
• Openshift, Amazon Web Services (AWS)
• GitHub • GitHub Actions
• Test-Driven Development (TDD)
• Agile methodologies (Scrum / Kanban / SAFe) and associated tools such as Confluence and JIRA for story management
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills with emphasis on the ability to collaborate while working remotely.
