What you’ll be doing:

Plan, develop and control the tasks related to managing effective materials procurement from domestic and international suppliers to Hill-Rom de Mexico. Work with multidisciplinary teams to assure the arrival of the material based on the changing environment from the production operations related to building to order finished goods and meeting the company’s targets set up. Support and assure the procurement of material for VIP, TCO and NPI Projects for Monterrey site, working with suppliers for building a strong supply chain during and after the implementation of the project.

  • Analyze weekly demand changes impact to materials requirements within the portfolio assigned and develop strategies to mitigate risk.
  • Develop continuous improvement projects per supplier or components to meet the materials demand, considering region, portfolio size in USD, assessments on materials production complexity to set up the most effective minimum order quantities and lead times, packaging and lot sizes. 
  • Set up items planning data in JDE to maintain and optimize the information sent to suppliers weekly, providing forecast and submitting POs (Supplier Schedules) according to the continuous demand changes.
  • Update JDE when supplier notifies a change in MOQ, Lead Times or when new suppliers or items are released.
  • Analyze and plan the materials requirements, run supplier schedules batch processes in JDE to send vendors the purchase orders and materials forecast via
  • Look for supplier confirmation for the POs placed and start escalation process when confirmed ship dates do not meet production requirements.
  • Analyze pull in – push out of POs, and work with suppliers to avoid excess material, involve sourcing team as necessary for escalating negotiation topics.
  • Make sure to involve quality, sourcing, engineering team or any other department (as necessary) when suppliers notify an issue for delivering material on time.
  • Notify the import, receiving, receiving inspection and warehouse teams, about urgent materials for production and follow up on this, making sure material is delivered to production.
  • Follow up to manual requirements, such type of commodities which based on inventory levels the JDE system is set up to not submit weekly requirements to suppliers.
  • Maintain traceability on past due requirements and work with vendors to improve OTD (On Time Delivery) by updating the system and keep communication with suppliers about commitments for deliveries.  
  • Confirm availability on parts to supply Service Parts orders from sister branch plants in Europe and the U.S.
  • Notify to the Materials Production Scheduling teams productions risk on Production Plan meetings, or as soon as the risk for meeting demand is detected.
  • Analyze and execute phase in-out on TCO projects following the FIFO tracking.
  • Approve MOD/SUS in Agile according to the effective dates analyzed and agreed during the phase in-out process with the engineering team.
  • Approve SCN in Agile for supplier transfers.
  • Generate and execute VIP projects related to Purchasing area, and support VIP projected lead by other departments.
  • Procure the materials involved in MOD/SUS/SCN or any other project since the moment a project is identify and 3 months after the project is implemented.
  • Expedite materials with suppliers as needed, when an inventory discrepancy is notified by warehouse or when a special order is requested by customers.
  • Collaboration with NPI Sourcing Leaders and Project Managers, to support new product introduction for Monterrey site.
  • Keep trainings on time at e-learning platform.
  • Answer on time NCMR or NCE assigned.
  • Monitor and approve non-standard component part usage. Maintain and control usage and replenishment of supply items.

What you'll bring

  • College Graduate (International Trading, Industrial Engineer, Administration Engineering degree).
  • Fluent English language to lead business discussions.
  • 5 or more years materials experience directly or indirectly as planner / buyer or equivalent combination of education and experience with logistics departments.
  • Knowledge on Logistics/Customs inbound for materials procurement Mexico, U.S., Europe, Asia.
  • Must be able to perform effectively the MMS role while being auto disciplined to set up priorities.
  • Requires proven knowledge of use of personal computer including Microsoft Office programs and production scheduling software.
  • Communicates well with internal and external customers.
  • Interested to building a professional career in materials, logistics, business negotiations.
  • Fast learner.
  • Works well under pressure.
  • Maintains and regains positive attitude.
  • Analytical skills.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Proven skills to be a proactive person who generates ideas to resolving materials problems and find alternatives while working with different background peers.
