Job Description


ABOUT YOUR ROLE


The SQE will be responsible for ensuring that all products and services provided by suppliers meet the necessary quality standards and comply with industry regulations. This position maintains and improves Supplier Management System which includes supplier qualifications, supplier audits, supplier corrective action process and scorecards. Work with suppliers on technical evaluations, analysis, and related data acquisition processes to ensure the company quality objectives are achieved. Manage the Supplier Quality performance issues, serve as the liaison for suppliers, drive structural quality and process improvements, and collaborate with other engineers in a team environment.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

  • Perform supplier evaluations, audits, and inspections to identify and resolve any issues related to quality
  • Collaborate with suppliers to implement corrective actions and preventative measures to improve quality and reduce defects
  • Communicates product specifications to suppliers and assesses supplier’s ability to meet engineering and quality requirements.
  • Monitors parts from acquisition through the manufacturing cycle and communicates and resolves supplier-related problems as they occur
  • Review and approve Supplier Quality plans, procedures, and documentation
  • Review and approve supplier test reports, certifications, and other quality-related documents
  • Investigate and resolve quality issues and complaints related to supplier products and services
  • Maintain and update Supplier Quality records, and act as a liaison between suppliers and the company
  • Keep up-to-date with industry regulations and standards, and ensure that suppliers comply with these requirements
  • Facilitates the supplier compliance program (Site audit, drive improvement in supplier performance, supplier development, supplier selection and qualification).
  • Works with the internal team to drive any Supplier related improvement opportunity or Non-Conforming Material Reports (NCMRs).
  • Manage Supplier SCAR /CAPA/ NCR and periodically provide metrics/report to Management Review Process.
  • Manage MRB (Material Review Board) to make sure proper actions and disposal of materials are addressed.
  • Reviews Supplier responses for appropriate root cause analysis and Corrective Actions to prevent re-occurrence of failure modes
  • Create/ Maintain Supplier Quality agreements.
  • Support all Procurement supplier Projects.
  • Support all new Product Development that is intended for production at suppliers.
  • Update SOPs and Forms related to supplier management process as needed
  • Collaborates with internal Quality Engineers, Inspectors and Purchasing teams on any supplier related issues
  • Supervise IQA (Incoming Quality Assurance) personnel and activities
  • Supervise Product Lab personnel and activities.
  • Supervise Calibration personnel and activities.
  • When required will work as Quality Manager backup.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality engineering, with experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Highly motivated, detail oriented, critical thinking skills, proficient in oral and written communication in English
  • Strong knowledge about calibration of measurement Equipment.
  • Experience managing a calibration lab.
  • Strong understanding of the procurement process and experience in supplier management
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Direct experience in Supplier Quality engineering, process development engineering, or manufacturing engineering for electronic or mechanical or components or products.
  • Strong understanding and application of root cause analysis tools with the ability to train and ensure suppliers utilize and follow standard methodology.
  • Background in electronics, surface mounting, wave soldering or printed electronics is a plus.
  • Experience as supervisor of incoming, calibration and quality control techs.
