Logistics Operations And Mode Team Analyst

The Senior Global Mode Team Leader is responsible for the global coordination of Mode Team management and the management of the global Mode Team staff. Including ownership of the necessary processes for the development of the provider base, implementation of global mode strategies and processes in all regions, and to ensure the necessary provider performance to meet Emerson’s supply chain. As required, the Senior Global Mode Team Leader will act as the Global Mode Team Leader for one or more global modes of transportation. Acting as the subject matter expert for the transportation industry.
 

PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Management of the global Mode Team staff. Ensuring compliance to Emerson policies related to employee relations and ethics standards. Including internal training requirements and establishing annual goals, objectives and training plans for each direct report.
2. Project management related to the strategic planning for mode management for the Americas. Including regional tensioning plans, management of key in region providers and leadership for the center led regional Mode Teams. 
3. Oversight of the strategic Mode Team processes  including the development of common processes for the selection, development, tensioning and implementation of transportation providers.
4. Oversight of the global provider risk mitigation process and reporting.  Closely monitoring providers risk related to financials, legal and business requirements. (certifications, insurance etc.) Including taking the necessary actions to minimize Emerson’s exposure to potential supply chain disruptions.
5. Coordination and resolution of issues related to the logistics network and the escalation of any critical issues to management. 
6. Communication and interactions with the Global Business Leaders (GLBLs), for matters pertaining to mode management.
7. Reporting of Key Metrics, participation in supply chain and logistics strategic meetings including the development and presentation of materials to management.
8. Support of the on-boarding initiatives for freight under management in the Freight Audit & Payment (FAP) program
9. Lead the on-boarding initiatives of increasing freight under management in the Supply Chain Optimization (SCO) program
10. Position requires both regional and international travel. Five to seven days per month as required.

EDUCATION:

Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in business, transportation, supply chain or related field or equivalent experience.

EXPERIENCE / SKILLS:

1. Excellent interpersonal communication skills are essential. Including appropriate language skills to ensure proper communication with the global program management team (English) and local plant personnel.
2. Proficiency in Microsoft Power Point, Excel, and Word software
3. Knowledge in Power BI, Oracle Transportation or Programming skills are a plus.
4. Demonstrate competency in working and excelling in a team environment including the ability to interact across all levels of management within and outside the organization
5. Demonstrate competency in mentoring/developing junior/develop members of her/his team
6. Strong project management skills including analytical and problem solving capabilities.
7. Understands basic concepts of supply chain and information systems
8. Familiarity with transportation and supply chain concepts and systems. Knowledge of regional or local providers is desirable.
9. Ability to multi-task and work in multi-disciplinary teams
10. English and local language capabilities.
