About the Role:
We are a leading fintech company in Mexico, at the forefront of revolutionizing financial services through technology and innovation in Latin America. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead of Non-Financial Risk Team to oversee our Operational and IT Risk functions. This role combines strategic oversight of operational risk management with a keen focus on IT risk, ensuring our organization is well-positioned to navigate and fight the complexities of the environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive non-financial risk management strategy, encompassing both operational and IT risk domains, to align with our organization’s goals and regulatory requirements.
- Lead the identification, assessment, and mitigation of operational and IT risks, incorporating innovative risk management practices and technology solutions.
- Enhance and maintain robust frameworks and policies for business continuity, crisis management, third-party risk management, and fraud detection, with a particular focus on the unique risks presented by IT systems and technology operations.
- Oversee the operational losses and events database, integrating IT risk incidents, to analyze trends and improve risk mitigation strategies.
- Champion the use of agile methodologies in project management and risk mitigation efforts, promoting a culture of agility and continuous improvement.
- Provide leadership and direction to the Non-Financial Risk team, nurturing talent and fostering a collaborative environment that encourages innovation and excellence.
- Serve as a key advisor to senior leadership, the Board of Directors, and external stakeholders on operational and IT risk matters, ensuring transparent communication and effective stakeholder management.
- Stay ahead of evolving regulatory guidelines, technological advancements, and industry best practices in risk management, applying insights to strengthen our risk posture.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Economics, Engineering, Finance, Information Technology, or a Risk Management related field.
- Proven expertise in operational risk management and a deep understanding of IT risks within the fintech sector.
- Experience in developing and implementing risk management strategies, frameworks, and policies, with a successful track record in managing complex risk portfolios.
- Strong leadership skills with experience in leading diverse teams and fostering a culture of innovation and high performance.
- Excellent stakeholder management abilities, adept at engaging with senior leaders, regulators, and internal/external auditors.
- Fluent in English and Spanish, with exceptional communication skills to articulate complex risk scenarios and strategies effectively.
- Proficiency in using risk management software, tools, and agile methodologies is highly preferred.
- An ability to navigate and thrive in a technology-driven environment, with a strategic mindset towards leveraging technology in risk management to transform our day-to-day.
