This role would oversee the translation and localization of our software products for Brazil and Mexico, as well as provide support to the Localization Team across all production phases of incoming translation requests. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of the localization process, ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality localized software that meets the linguistic and cultural requirements of the target market. T his position entails being employed by our company on a contractual basis while providing your service to the client. This arrangement allows for a seamless integration into the client's operations while ensuring that you benefit from the support and resources provided by our company.

This is a temporary role of 9 months.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all localization-related inquiries and issues, both internally and externally.
  • Manage localization resources, including translators, editors, and Clover engineers, to optimize efficiency and quality.
  • Coordinate all localization activities, including translation, editing, proofreading, and quality assurance.
  • Manage incoming translation requests in Jira, collect reference materials and visual context, and assigning work to translators
  • Communicate regularly with stakeholders to provide updates on project status, address concerns, and gather feedback.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to establish project timelines and deliverables.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks and challenges that may impact the localization process or timeline.
  • Monitor project progress and performance metrics to ensure adherence to established goals and standards.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to streamline processes and enhance localization efficiency and quality.
  • Flag potential internationalization issues found in strings to engineering team
  • Upload requests into Smartling platform, set due dates for vendors, and deliver completed extracted translations to engineering teams
  • Research and answer translators’ queries about source content to ensure accuracy (use internal resources and interface with writers, product, engineering as needed for clarification)
  • Ensure adherence to established terminology and style guide
  • Native fluency in target language, and knowledge of additional languages a plus.
  • Proven experience managing localization projects for software products, preferably in the target language/country.
  • Strong knowledge of localization tools (Smartling) and technologies, translation management systems, version control systems, Jira and Confluence.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners.
  • Relevant university degree, certifications, or professional experience. Familiarity or past experience in payments, banking, finance, POS systems, merchant apps a plus.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management abilities, with a keen attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Cultural sensitivity and awareness, with a deep understanding of the target market's preferences, norms, and cultural nuances.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically to overcome challenges and drive project success.
  • Knowing how to handle text strings, identify text from strings ID's in xml, javascript, .properties, json file formats; knowing how to work with variables/placeholders in text strings
  • Knowledge of Translation tools (CAT tools) such as SDL Trados, XTM, Idiom, Lilt, Smartling
  • Project management certification (PMP) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with software release cycles and Agile development
  • Attention to detail, flexible mindset, independent learner

Some Of These Benefits Include

 

  • Holiday: You will be entitled to 18 working days paid leave per year (pro-rata in first year), excluding public holidays. This entitlement will increase to 19 days after 2 years service, 20 days after 3 years service and 21 after 4 years.
  • Birthday Day Off: As a gift from us you will receive an extra day off for your birthday each year. If your birthday falls on a weekend, then you can take this the Friday before or Monday after.
  • Christmas Bonus: 30 (thirty) days pay of your daily salary each year paid to you in December.
  • Vacation Bonus: 50% (fifty per cent) premium on the vacation pay in addition to your payment received during such vacation period.
