Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
Manage a team of mechanical and electrical designers to deliver design on projects. This will include project staffing, demand and capacity planning, performance appraisals etc.
Review, update, train and adhere to design processes.
Drive optimization for design practice and part selection across all designs.
Regulate, manage, and drive adherence to all design artifact retention and life cycle management.
Optimize and champion best design practice across all Engineering Designs.
Oversee the mechanical and Electrical design of the power converter product.
Design of standard product functions and options under the direction of the product line manager.
Structuring each of the functions and options by considering the critical functional specifications and the principle of reuse of components for the entire product range, respecting the established design, manufacturing, and safety rules (high voltage, product safety …).
Actively contribute to product and associated project design reviews in collaboration with the industrialization engineer and the product engineer.
Ensure monitoring of the design of the projects he/she leads and compliance with project quality, cost, and deadline objectives.
Design power converters in 3D CAD by integrating electrotechnical, electrical, controls, hydraulic, and mechanical functions, and components.
Size electrical conductors (bus bar, cables, etc. according to internal rules and project power).
Select materials, launch subcontracting and follow-up of detailed plans and assembly plans for manufacturing.
Monitor feedback from the factory during the assembly and testing of the power converter(s) at our premises.
Required Qualifications
Master's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 6 years of experience
Minimum of 5 years of significant experience in the Engineering/Technology & Design Engineering Management.
