In this role, the Sr. Manufacturing process Engineer will be responsible for the development of creative new solutions and improvements to existing designs of manufacturing equipment and tools for medical devices produced by Baxter's Patient Support System. You will be a highly versatile hands-on engineer able to design, construct, test, troubleshoot and document your activities.
This role will be on-site at Baxter in Monterrey, Mexico.

What you'll be doing
  • Radio Frequency (RF) Welding Subject Matter Expert (SME)
  • Support the design, development, fabrication, deployment and troubleshooting of RF welding equipment and associated tooling for use in the production of Medical Devices and sub-assemblies.
  • Provide technical support and expertise to RF Welding process creation, optimization, validation, and technical leadership in tool design.
  • Analyze operational process problems and implement appropriate corrective and preventative actions.
  • Optimize the manufacturing processes onsite to provide sustainable gains in cost effectiveness and quality improvement through capital projects, statistical analysis, design of experiments and procedural changes.
  • Develop relationships with preferred suppliers and act as a liaison/interface with plant engineering to identify and develop solutions.
  • Generate and communicate schedules and project plans. Participate in project planning and may direct portions of smaller projects or segments of large projects to include scheduling, monitoring costs, resources, workforce loading, etc.
  • Research and design RF welding and other textile manufacturing processes, stay up to date with new technologies and trends.
  • Work with R&D product engineers to define requirements and with operations to determine manufacturing needs.

What you'll bring
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field with preference in engineering or physics.
  • 10+ years of experience in an engineering role with experience in RF welding and other fabric/textile manufacturing processes (i.e., cutting and screen printing)
  • Experience with RF welding tools and manufacturing assembly fixtures
  • Experience and understanding of textile technology (Coated Nylon, Polyurethane, TPU, Films, Vinyl)
  • Experience with automation and PLC programming
  • Experience with Manufacturing Process Engineering activities, programming, production cell design, line balancing, time studies, BOM structure, labor routing and reporting structures.
  • Demonstrate good planning, organizing, time management and team participation skills.
  • Project management, lean practices, six sigma
  • Strong customer relationship management
  • Experience working in ISO/FDA regulated environments and GMP’s.
  • Must be fluent in both English and Spanish
