Job Description
In this role, you will be focused on prepare business related analyses and research for Supply Chain, Materials Management, and/or Logistics. The individual will focus on activities related to Buying, Planning and Scheduling shipments to maintain Inventory / Material Control.
As part of our team, this individual will operate under general guidance from the Operations Manager to ensure execution of daily operational efficiencies and implementation of key business objectives.
ABOUT YOUR ROLE
3 years previous on Supply Chain experience or purchasing.
- Manage and improve finish goods and component part planning and ordering processes: conduct daily planning / ordering for all materials; analyzes usage in response to demand or Supply Chains changes; improve and standardize daily planning processes.
- Place purchase orders with Domestic and International Suppliers and perform proper follow up and confirmation, ensure prices and rates in accordance to company guidelines and standards
- Providing support for new product development or transitions. Analyze and plan material requirements by determining the quantity and date materials are needed to ensure optimal inventory levels.
- Review operational schedules and perform proper follow up and confirmation to ensure materials arrive on time, coordinating deliveries of materials to support manufacturing needs. Serve as primary liaison to a business unit to ensure their Supply Chain, material management, and Logistics needs are met.
- Coordinate Supply Chain, material management, and Logistics activities with internal/external customers. Collaborate with Trade Compliance on import security filings, Incoterms designation (Procurement), and customs release of direct materials.
- Prepare forecasts and analyze trends in manufacturing, sales, distribution, general business conditions and other related areas.
- Audit invoices to ensure that correct charges have been applied.
- Maintain appropriate records and prepare reports.
- Generation and control of National Purchase orders for indirect requirements at site.
- Assist with the planning of shipping from the manufacturing location.
- Develop and implement Supply Chain, material management, and Logistics plans that may affect the production, distribution, and inventory of finished products in order to enhance product flow.
- Assist in the development of policies, guidelines, and procedures to ensure quality and cost control.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or currently studding in Supply Chain management, logistics, or other related degree needed.
- 3 years previous on Supply Chain experience or purchasing.
- Knowledge of General Supply Chain, Materials Management, Purchasing and Logistics required.
- Detail oriented and excellent analytical, mathematical, organizational, verbal and written communication skills.
- Results oriented focus and ability to take ownership to resolve issues.
- Flexibility and willingness to initiate change and lead change.
- High customer focus: ability to proactively identify and meet customer needs.
- Understanding of applicable computer systems, such as Microsoft Office, Google Applications, Lotus Notes and MFG Pro, Oracle or equivalent ERP systems.
- Ability to interface with cross-functional groups to define and execute overall requirements AND work well with all levels of management and employees. Conduct research; prepare reports, and present statistical information in a clear and succinct fashion.
