Purpose of the Position

The Supply Chain Operations Manager position is to oversee and optimize all aspects of the company's Supply Chain Operations. This role is responsible for managing inventory, fostering strong vendor relationships, forecasting supply needs, and implementing strategies to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness within the Supply Chain. By ensuring seamless coordination and execution of Supply Chain activities, the Supply Chain Operations Manager plays a pivotal role in supporting the company's growth objectives and delivering exceptional value to customers.

Key Responsibilities

 

Inventory Management : Develop and implement inventory management strategies to optimize stock levels and minimize holding costs. Acquire additional inventory materials as necessary by responsibly managing the purchasing process to meet production demands and ensure adequate stock levels. Conduct regular inventory audits to maintain accuracy and identify discrepancies. Implement inventory control measures to prevent stockouts and overstock situations.
Production Planning: Collaborate with sales and production teams to forecast demand for jewelry products. Determine the amount of jewelry needed to be produced to support sales projections. Coordinate with production teams to ensure timely manufacturing of jewelry products according to demand forecasts.
Vendor Management : Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers.
Negotiate favorable terms and agreements to secure competitive pricing and quality standards.
Coordinate with vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials and goods. Address vendor performance issues and resolve disputes in a timely manner.
Demand Forecasting and Planning: Utilize demand forecasting techniques and historical data to predict future demand for products and materials. Collaborate with sales, marketing, and production teams to develop accurate demand forecasts. Develop production plans and procurement strategies based on demand forecasts and lead times.
Process Optimization: Identify opportunities for process improvement within the Supply Chain.
Analyze existing processes and workflows to identify inefficiencies and bottlenecks. Implement continuous improvement initiatives to streamline operations and reduce costs. Leverage technology and automation to enhance efficiency and accuracy in Supply Chain processes.
Cost Management: Monitor and analyze Supply Chain costs, including procurement, transportation, and inventory holding costs. Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to reduce expenses without compromising quality or service levels. Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to Supply Chain costs and performance.
Risk Management: Identify potential risks and vulnerabilities within the Supply Chain, such as disruptions in supply, price fluctuations, and quality issues. Develop risk mitigation strategies to minimize the impact of Supply Chain disruptions. Establish contingency plans and alternative sourcing options to ensure business continuity.
Cross-functional collaboration: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including logistics, production, sales, and finance, to align Supply Chain activities with business objectives.
Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment on Supply Chain priorities and initiatives. Facilitate collaboration and knowledge sharing across departments to drive continuous improvement and innovation.
Compliance and Sustainability: Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards related to Supply Chain management, including safety, quality, and environmental requirements. Incorporate sustainability principles into Supply Chain practices, such as sourcing sustainable materials and minimizing waste generation. Monitor and report on key sustainability metrics to track progress and drive continuous improvement in sustainability performance.

Requirements and competencies to work with us

Studies

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain management, business administration, or a related field.


• Certification in Supply Chain management (e.g., APICS, CSCMP) is a plus.

Experience

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Supply Chain management, with a focus on inventory management, vendor relationships, and process optimization.


• Proven track record of successfully leading and managing Supply Chain Operations in a fast-paced environment.


• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address complex Supply Chain issues.


• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.


• Proficiency in Supply Chain management software and tools.


• Knowledge of relevant regulations and industry standards related to Supply Chain management.


• Familiarity with relevant technology, automation, and digitization tools to enhance efficiency and accuracy in Supply Chain processes.


• Experience in implementing and optimizing inventory management systems.


• Knowledge of key performance indicators (KPIs) related to Supply Chain performance and the ability to track and analyze them effectively.


• Understanding of e-commerce platforms, with specific experience in Shopify being a significant advantage.


• Previous jewelry experience is a plus.
