The Operations Director position based in Queretaro, is responsible directly and through subordinate managers to oversee specific divisional franchise manufacturing, engineering, and operations activities. This position may be appointed with the responsibility of Management with Executive Responsibility for the Electrophysiology business unit. Also, this position applies highly developed knowledge and skills in project management, project planning, product availability, quality compliance (GMP, production/process controls, etc.), budgets and unit cost glides, and methodologies to manage global projects and Engineering projects with increased complexity. Selects, coach and develop personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the production and manufacturing engineering function. Will manufacture product for commercial needs, engineering runs such as experimental trials and clinical trials if needed. Identifies and executes continuous improvement opportunities striving for an Operational Excellence Culture.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or related field, MBA, or Master’s in technical field degree desired
Experience / Background
Minimum 12+ years of related work experience/combination of education and work experience Knowledge of regulations and standards of medical devices. Solid knowledge of GMP and ISO regulation manufacturing/engineering experience at medical devices companies, or with companies engaged in the manufacture of high-quality products in clean rooms. Proven leadership skills, results oriented, highly collaborative, team player, and self-starter who can operate in a fast-paced environment. Experience in manufacturing and engineering activities during production line’s start up and sustaining phases. Proven continuous improvement projects experience either administrating and/or executing them. Significant experience in identifying and driving operational change and excellence. Progressively responsible work experience in a high-volume, multiproduct manufacturing environment, preferably in the medical device industry. Experience working in a broader enterprise/cross division business unit model preferred. Significant experience leading and implementing lean manufacturing/Six Sigma initiatives. Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment.
