Manager, Contracts Operations

Business Management Systems and Enablement (BMSE) is a newly formed function within HPC, AI & Labs’ Customer Success and Solution Engineering business group. We are here to build a high-performing team and capabilities to drive end-to-end operations across the business group, including interfacing with key support functions and stakeholders to ensure we meet our internal and external commitments. You will be a part of a dynamic, fast-pace organization with lots of opportunities to make a real difference.
We are currently implementing HPE standard solution (Icertis) as a contracts repository for HPC, AI & Labs Business Group. We are also looking for a financial risk/penalties/project management solution to administer on-going contract obligation and risk management to implement by the end of fiscal 2023. In this newly created role, we are looking for a leader to institute Contracts Management practice and team into our Business Group. You will be the key point of contact to work with the PMO implementation team to implement Icertis, while in parallel looking for, selecting and implementing a solution for on-going contract obligation and risk management. You will build a team to provide contracts administration and to oversee the contract governance program to track the HPC delivery portfolio. Your team will work to provide dashboard reports to L1/L2 management to monitor contract delivery acceptance, penalties, performance, and risk.
Responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:
• Ensure successful and timely implementation of Icertis for HPC, AI & Labs
• Select a solution for and then ensure successful and timely implementation of the risk management and on-going contract obligation and risk management
• Build and oversee the contract governance program to track the HPC delivery portfolio. Provide dashboard reports to L1/L2 management to monitor contract delivery acceptance, penalties, and risk
• Attract, hire and develop high performing talent and build a high performing Contracts Operations Management team
• Ensure successful planning, scheduling and coordinating business processes for contract delivery
• Ensure creation of obligation / delivery checklists for program teams by working with pursuit and delivery teams to facilitate requirements planning and reviews
• Lead and manage the project governance, organizing regular projects/programs reviews
• Prepare monthly/quarterly business reviews, leading reviews when appropriate
• Make sure key metrics, reports and scorecards are produced on time
• Deploy proactive risk management techniques and track to reduce risk
• Lead and work with cross-functional teams to develop, track and manage business performance metrics
• Leads and/or provides expertise to functional project teams and may participate in cross-functional initiatives
The successful candidate will enjoy working in a fast pace environment, be a quick learner, have a great attention to detail, project confidence, demonstrate strong governance/orchestration skills and have a great personality to work in a cross-functional team environment.
Responsible for planning, scheduling and coordinating demand/supply management, business processes and/or manufacturing/delivery of products and services to the company policy and country regulatory requirements. Partners with stakeholders to identify/implement opportunities for business process improvement to effectively manage costs, integrate new and existing businesses, and adapt to changes in the business and regulatory environment. Time horizon is typically focused on less than six months for forecasting/planning. Leading and working with cross-functional teams, creates and implements plans that enable the execution of business strategies. Participates in the process by which demand signals are developed, validated for alignment with transition plans, supply constraints identified, and an executable plan defined that meets financial and market share goals. Scope includes business execution processes related to lifecycle planning; order management (including allocation management, Available to Promise (ATP) / commit processes, business attainment tracking); logistics management (including inbound/outbound coordination and consolidation of domestic and international systems to support shipments); and inventory management (including analysis, optimization and velocity). Partners cross-functionally to develop, track and manage business metrics for the organization (may include customer availability, service levels, on-time delivery, supplier response time (SRTs), supply chain costs and inventory.
Applies expert subject matter knowledge to manage staff activities in solving most complex business/technical issues within established policies. Manages activities of exempt individual contributors (typically Expert/Master) and/or MG1s. Has accountability for a large multi-department area(s) or location(s) with significant impact on business unit results and organizational strategy. Acts as a key advisor to senior management on the development of overall policies and long-term goals of the organization. Plans, manages, and monitors high-end operational/tactical activities of Staff. Staff members' primary focus is on either high-end tactical or broad strategic issues or a combination of both. Recruits and supports development of direct staff members. Position typically reports to Director or above.
Manages and controls activities within a sub-region or Region; Typically manages 10 or more direct reports.
How you'll make your mark:
• Accountable for supply and demand activities for multiple, complex product lines, ensuring that performance (inventory, cost, etc.) meets the overall business needs.
• Manages a team of senior-level exempt individual contributors and Managers that typically support a complex global business unit.
• Responsible for hiring, setting and monitoring of annual performance plans, coaching, and career development; ensures that the proper tools are in place to support the team and the processes.
• Ensures the delivery of products and services that meet the performance metrics defined by senior management; supports the design of performance measurement processes.
• Consults with business leaders to guide and influence strategic decision-making within a broad scope.
• Creates new operational efficiencies and cost savings within the supply chain on a broad scale using process improvement and policy development.
• Manages the demand and supply matching activities from a strategic level, ensuring that operations are achieving the key business metrics.
• Lead regional/global business unit's trade compliance to realize efficiencies and advantages in the supply chain.
• Oversees the development and delivery of complex initiatives that can impact the supply chain globally, typically requiring the leadership of cross-functional and cross-regional teams.
About you:
• First level university degree or equivalent experience; advanced university degree preferred.
• Typically 10+ years of experience in a supply chain function (or related fields).
• Typically 2-4 years of people management experience.
• Excellent understanding of demand and supply planning processes, business operations, and strategy.
• Excellent analytical thinking, analysis, data modeling, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent project management skills, including time and risk management, and project structuring.
• Advanced leadership skills, including coaching, team- building, conflict resolution, and management.
• Ability to manage human capital in a virtual and global environment to drive workforce development and achieve desired results.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including advanced negotiation, presentation, and influence skills.
• Superior business acumen, technical knowledge of multiple business units, and extensive knowledge in applications and technologies.
• Strong understanding of the company's policies and processes.
• Advanced multi-tasking and prioritization skills.
• Advanced understanding of national and international trade requirements.
• Advanced relationship management skills, including partnering and consulting.
• Advanced communication skills catered to a wide variety of audiences. (e.g. written, verbal, presentation); mastery in English. and local language
