The Sr. Accounting Manager will be responsible for U.S., Canada, and Mexico accounting, including review and approval of journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations; analyzing financial information; and explaining fluxes and variances as part of the monthly reporting process. In addition, this role will be heavily involved in process improvements and internal controls. The ideal candidate will have a combination of Big 4 public accounting experience, as well as experience within the accounting department of a public company.
- Responsible for payroll and benefits accounting for U.S., Canada, and Mexico.
- Responsible for hiring, supervising, training, and developing a team of accounting professionals.
- Responsible for general accounting journal entries (accrual, prepaid, cash, etc.).
- Oversee the monthly close process to ensure the timely and accurate issuance of the monthly financial statements, manage the flow of information and supporting documentation from various parts of the company, review related account analysis, ensure consistent data/accounting practices across multiple legal entities, and all other tasks related to the monthly close.
- Responsible for review of balance sheet account reconciliations.
- Work with the Internal Audit team to assess existing controls and coordinate management action to address issues and improvements recommended by Internal Audit.
- Assist in ensuring financial controls are adhered to and all procedures and processes are followed in accordance with company's accounting policies.
- Assist with implementing best practices, help drive continuous improvement and proactively recommend better more efficient solutions.
- Ensure that accounting staff is prepared for external audits and that auditor requests are prepared in a timely manner and follow-up items are quickly addressed to ensure the audit engagement/report are completed on time.
- Additional duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
- Public Accounting experience required.
- At least 7 years of Accounting experience.
- English at least at the B2 level.
- Advanced Word, PowerPoint, Excel (Pivots, V-lookups, graphs).
