Your New Role…


Warner Bros. Discovery seeks a US Senior Analyst, Payroll Audit and Controls for the Global Business Services People and Culture Shared Services Payroll Department. The Sr. Analyst is the point person for all Payroll, Settlement and Pension related audits. S(he) will provide expertise on Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) audit requirements and related issues. S(he) will also be responsible for gathering report requirements, coordinating with Workforce Analytics to provide appropriate reports based on initial request and confidentiality. S(he) should be committed to conducting testing for all Payroll, Settlement and Pension implementations. This individual will support internal and external audits of various payroll areas and prepare materials for audit inquiries and provide to the internal and external auditors. (S)he will participate in special projects when required.

Your Role Accountabilities…

  • Collaborate with the system owners, internal, and external audit teams to plan and execute SOX compliance.

  • Recommend and implement best practices in SOX compliance for continuous improvement of the SOX requirements.

  • Responsibilities include tracking action items, performing research, compiling data and analytics, and looking for opportunities to improve processes within the SOX area.

  • Compiling, analyzing, and documenting issues on payroll and related fiscal activities to identify systemic issues or problems.

  • Research payroll inconsistencies and irregularities to determine root cause and resolution.

  • Performing data analysis by running reports, and using Excel functionality (vlookups, index match, pivot tables).

  • Work with cross functional counterparts to understand and resolve issues.

  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and support all internal and external audits.

  • Act as point of escalation for audit and testing and work to identify, track, document, and resolve issues and risks proactively with timely further escalation of unresolved items to senior management.

  • Execute, and facilitate complex projects across multiple stakeholders and teams and effectively communicate timelines and remove roadblocks as they arise.

  • Provide exceptional customer service by ensuring service level agreements (SLAs) are met, all inquiries are answered, and all requests are processed in a timely manner.

  • Provide status reports to key stakeholders and participate in meetings as appropriate.

  • Conducts testing of payroll system or process changes and enhancements.

  • Review and update training materials and maintain internal policies and procedures in accordance with the law.

  • Develop, implement, and maintain policies and procedures to ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll in accordance with company policies.

  • Support other projects and activities, as defined by senior leadership and/or enterprise activities, as directed and required.

Qualifications & Experience…

  • Experience in US payroll operations, managing sensitive and confidential information is required. Experience in a shared service, large multi-business unit organization is a plus.

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field or equivalent combination of work experience required. CPP or FPC certification preferred.

  • Language Requirements: Must be bilingual. Spanish / English speaking.

  • Technical Skills: Experience with Workday HR/payroll or other SaaS payroll tools required (SAP or PeopleSoft) with payroll integration and mass data loads (EIB) preferred. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft required, particularly with MS Excel.

  • Process Management: Advanced understanding of US federal and state regulations related to salaries, wages, taxes, benefits, and other payroll related matters required. Skilled in process management, improvements, and re-engineering.

  • Union Requirements: Understanding of Motion Picture collective bargaining agreements and union pension health and welfare preferred.
