As a Staff Accountant on the International team, you will be responsible to ensure the financial reporting from our global subsidiaries is accurate and timely. Reporting to the manager on the International team and working closely with subsidiaries, your hands-on accounting experience, in-depth understanding of accounting principles, and excellent communication skills will guide the subsidiaries through month-end close and any accounting issues. Your real passion for accurate financial reporting will help to ensure Riot can stay focused on players throughout the globe.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with international subsidiaries and service providers to get updates about what is happening in the subsidiaries
• Review subsidiaries' monthly financial reporting pack, identify and research unusual transactions and follow up with other groups to get more information. Discuss the findings with the accounting team to conclude on the proper accounting treatment
• Answer subsidiaries' day-to-day accounting questions, provide guidance on general accounting questions and ensure consistency with US reporting requirements
• Participate in all activities related to full-cycle accounting, including preparing journal entries, reconciling general ledger accounts, and researching and resolving discrepancies
• Maintain a tight monthly reporting schedule according to established time-frames
• Investigate fluctuations and monitor trends in the accounts and work with other teams and subsidiaries to gain a deep understanding of the story behind the movements
• Maintain monthly account reconciliations and ledger reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance
• Improve existing processes by finding ways to add efficiency or quality
• Engage in training opportunities for yourself and the broader team
• The right person for this role is an excellent communicator and sets a high bar for themselves and their work product, is hardworking and intellectually curious, and can effectively problem seek in a dynamic environment.

Required Qualifications: 

• BA in Accounting, Finance or Economics
• Minimum of two years experience in public or corporate accounting
• Knowledge of GAAP standards
• Knowledge of ERP systems (Oracle preferred)
• Experience handling a variety of accounts
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel

Desired Qualifications:

• CPA preferred
