Our Tax Accountant will work with their Manager, Sr. Manager, and Director to ensure that the appropriate corporate tax policies, methods, standards, processes, reporting, and training are developed, applied, and understood by impacted stakeholders!
As a Tax Accountant, you will:
Work with manager, senior manager, and director to review, analyze and interpret new information reporting and withholding requirements
Work with product and technology, to capture facts and develop strategies to ensure compliance with Information Reporting and Withholding (IR&W) procedures
Analyze information used in the preparation of various information returns
Review Forms W-9, W-8BEN / W-8BEN-E, IRS Letter 147C, and other similar documents
Support team on 1099-K & 1042-S issuance and reporting and work with tax vendor/partner on corrections and amendments
Support US and Mexico quarterly and monthly withholding processes and payment remittances to tax authorities
Assist with IRS Notices such as CP2100 and TIN solicitations
Work with Mexico legal counsel and tax partner on current information reporting requirements and monitor any changes to local requirements
Review tax related fraud and account takeover cases and partner with risk and compliance teams
Cross-train with other Tax Accountants to provide back-up support
Assist IR&W team members as needed
Qualifications include:
Clear and concise communication skills (both verbal and written)
Fluent in English and Spanish (both verbal and written)
2+ years experience supporting multiple projects simultaneously
2+ years experience building positive relationships with collaborators, colleagues, and partners
2+ years working with IRS Tax Forms (eg. W-8/W-9) validation is helpful
2+ years experience with US Tax principles is preferred
2+ years experience with MS Excel, Google Sheets, MS Powerpoint, Google Slides, Atlassian’s Jira and Confluence products
Ability to quickly grasp sophisticated tax requirements
Ability to communicate tax requirements to other stakeholders
Ability to work independently and be a phenomenal teammate
