About Our Controllership Chapter:

We are producing reliable and traceable accounting and finance information, supporting the company’s growth through a robust, reliable and scalable process with a focus on data and analytics. We are responsible for bringing together all of Nubank’s financial data, monitoring it, making sure that everything is accounted for in our systems. We are also in charge of all the regulatory and financial reports, cash management and financial operations for Nubank.

As a Controllership Accounting Product Analyst, you’ll be expected to:

• Conduct analysis and gain comprehension of the functioning of Credit and Deposit products in the Mexican market.
• Evaluate the financial events and data structure of new products and features, and assess their impact on accounting, taxation, and regulatory compliance. Determine the appropriate journal entries based on accounting and regulatory frameworks (CUSOFIPO & CUB).
• Conduct research and analysis on technical accounting matters, including the evaluation of the effects of new accounting regulations and pronouncements. Ensure that the accounting for the products adheres to the relevant standards.
• Collaborate with Analytics Engineers and Finance Core Platform analysts to define specifications, design, and implement data architecture in order to enhance and automate processes and controls for Controllership.
• Create and maintain thorough documentation of product accounting definitions.
• Proactively identify opportunities for automation and work towards implementing the devised solutions.
• Lead cross-functional initiatives involving accounting, reporting, and systems collaboration with Product Managers, Engineers, Operations, Legal, Compliance, Risk, and other stakeholders from both Mexico and other countries where Nu operates.
• Verify journal entries for monthly accounting closures, perform reconciliations, and implement automation processes.
• Develop analytical reports on Nu Mexico's product portfolio and provide financial insights for internal forums. Contribute to the creation of local financial statements.
• Participate in internal and external audits related to product accounting and financial reporting.

We are looking for a Controllership Accounting Product Analyst professional who has:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or a similar field. (Required)
• Professional experience of 3+ years working in banks. (Preferred)
• Strong technical accounting knowledge, including CUB and CUSOFIPO frameworks, CINIF's NIFs, and IFRS. (Required)
• Relevant experience in preparing accounting journal entries, performing accounting reconciliations, and producing monthly accounting reports, as well as establishing internal controls. (Required)
• Experience in supporting internal and external audits to ensure compliance with product accounting and regulatory reporting. (Preferred)
• Ability to solve complex problems that involve various topics/variables, such as business, regulatory, operational, and product features. (Preferred)
• Strong interpersonal and project management skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders and management at all levels. (Requiere)
• Solid analytical background and a data-driven mindset. Comfortable working with large and small datasets to make informed decisions. (Preferred)
• Advanced knowledge and proficiency in Excel and Google Suite. (Required)
• Knowledge of SQL. (Preferred)
• Experience with SAP. (Preferred)
• Advanced level of English, with strong oral and written communication skills. (Required)
