Job Description

Join AECOM, the world’s premier design, engineering, environmental, and consulting firm, as the Mexico Country Manager and take the lead in our ambitious expansion efforts in the country and Latin America and the Caribbean. This pivotal role offers a remarkable opportunity for a proven leader to drive the rapid growth of our architecture, design, engineering, environmental, social, program management and advisory services, serving our global and local private clients and key government programs in Mexico across a wide array of industries.

As the Country Manager, you will be the driving force developing a world class team of talented professionals and expand AECOM's footprint in Mexico through some of the most iconic and impactful projects in the country. Your mission is to contribute and implement the AECOM strategy in Mexico by expanding our client base, develop the capabilities of our teams and operations in Mexico and leverage our global expertise housed in AECOM's Centers of Excellence to deliver programs and projects in Mexico that make a difference in the life of our communities in the country.

Your responsibilities will encompass the development of business opportunities and overseeing our investment decisions to grow our top line revenue and EBITDA, manage risks and keep the teams focus to those programs and projects where AECOM can make a meaningful contribution, and the meticulous oversight of our local operations to ensure compliance and alignment with our core values. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

Manage to a strategy:

  • Contribute to developing the AECOM strategy to build our capabilities in Mexico to deliver complex design, engineering, environmental, social, and program management and advisory services to our clients.

  • Manage the implementation of our strategy through the regular oversight of our operations and business line, and engineering teams to ensure focus and adequate allocation of resources.

  • Manage to meet AECOM Key Financial Indicators, including Gross and Net Revenue, Cost, and EBITDA.

  • Manage our strategic investments and business development efforts to expand our client base and services offering, and position AECOM to successfully grow our business.

  • Develop the talent and professional teams strategically to build the AECOM capabilities in Mexico to service our clients in the country and enhance our global capabilities.

  • Drive a culture of innovation, quality, and timely performance.

  • Lead the implementation of our risk management policies and procedures and ensure we mitigate our projects risks.

  • Manage a Client-Centric Approach that prioritizes the delivery of the highest level of service to clients, fostering trust and long-lasting relationships, and ensuring client satisfaction.

  • Stakeholder Relations: Conduct regular business reviews and maintain meaningful connections with key stakeholders, building value-based relationships.

Market Focus:

  • Exercise local market understanding and knowledge of the local market, including in-depth awareness of industry trends, competitors, and potential opportunities and challenges to lead the business.

  • Through deep understanding of AECOM global capabilities and cutting-edge technologies and services, position the company as a market leader with potential clients and the market overall.

  • Identify and nurture new market niches where AECOM has global capabilities and can provide a differentiated service offering.

Talent Management:

  • Develop a culture of merit, responsibility, excellence, and team work to create an environment that attracts the best talent available in Mexico.

  • Lead our employee retention initiatives and professional and personal development programs to nurture our talent capabilities.

  • Promote our gender and inclusion programs and objectives and promote and environment free of discrimination and biases.

  • Ensure the seamless integration of AECOM's wide array of technical expertise within project teams.

  • Safety and Compliance: Champion and support the achievement of high safety standards for all employees, underscoring our commitment to continual improvement.

Leadership:

  • Ethical Excellence: Lead by example with the highest ethical standards, ensuring a work environment free of conflicts of interest, anticompetitive practices and antibribery and anticorruption.

  • Safety Advocacy: Champion safety initiatives, fostering a culture of safety and compliance throughout the organization.

  • Develop a results-driven, excellence and responsibility culture through active engagement and performance monitoring, adherence to Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and personal and collective learning to improve performance.

  • Promote an open and transparent environment and an assertive communications culture, focused in strengthening personal and collective performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Environment, Economics, Social and related profession, and business and management, or related advanced degree.

  • 12+ years of experience with at least 4 years of experience in executive and managerial level and a demonstrated track record of successfully managing annual revenues exceeding USD $30 million and EBITDA and margin performance of 8%+ of gross revenues.

  • Proven experience managing projects or programs following Program Management Institute methodologies or similar.

  • Bilingual Proficiency: Fluent in both spoken and written English and Spanish, facilitating effective communication and collaboration in multi-lingual and diverse cultural environments.

  • Comprehensive Service Expertise: Extensive experience in marketing and project delivery of environmental and social services, engineering, design, architecture, and/or construction services, particularly in the dynamic context of Colombia.

  • Strategic Business Development: Established a successful history of leading and supporting business development efforts, resulting in the cultivation of enduring, strategic business relationships that translate into substantial revenue growth.

  • Exemplary Leadership: Proven capabilities in people management and leadership by example, underpinned by strong communications skills and a high degree of cultural awareness, effective team collaboration and personal and collective performance.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage and grow business units, attaining notable achievements in expanding operations, revenues, cost control and profitability.

  • A demonstrated ability of proficient business development and management of strategic growth initiatives that are fully aligned with the corporate strategies, and overall success and sustainability of the organization.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Business Administration, Economics preferred

  • Project Management Certification

  • 15+ years of experience with at least 12 years of experience in a managerial level of Design, Engineering and/or Construction firm experience in infrastructure, environmental and social development, or other fields akin to AECOM’s line of work
