As a BPA Manager supporting R&D Finance team, you will be trusted to work on creating value by driving financial planning, reporting, and analysis activities within Global R&D to maximize its resource allocation. Provides analytical support, intelligently challenges the status quo, and simplifies/standardizes outcomes. The role is responsible for monthly variance analysis accompanying concise commentary, delivery of accurate dashboards, and assessment of risks and opportunities. Additionally, it coordinates the financial planning processes with oversight across all P&L lines, Capex, project direct expenses, and FTEs at Mexico AGS offices.
In this role, a typical day will include:
- Deliver accurate monthly dashboards for the Global R&D organization.
- Subject matter expert on the financial reporting systems and ownership of data integrity (Provides understanding and guidance to the team on system intricacies).
- Drive value creation by simplifying and automating financial planning and analysis.
- Lead month-end and rolling forecast, annual budget, and strategic planning processes, demonstrating business understanding, curiosity, and conveying explanations and actions effectively.
- Support BPA processes, including tools/templates design and implementation, system submissions, ad-hoc analysis, etc.
- Support R&D's CFO with special presentations and ad hoc requirement.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON:
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in financial planning & analysis
- At least 2 years of experience in managerial role
- Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, accounting/finance; CPA, CMA or MBA preferred.
- Fluent in spoken and written English Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Project management and leadership skills, ability to work cross-functional and in teams.
- Experience of working in multicultural / international environment.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills (including the ability to synthesize, simplify, and convey story with clear and concise messages)
- Take ownership for the work and intelligently challenge the status quo.
- Ability to understand the bigger picture (e.g., impacts across the business, etc.)
- Team player able to interact with all levels and interface effectively with global counterparts.
- Proactivity, attention to detail and quality
- Problem solving mindset, with a strong passion for driving a simplification agenda.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office (e.g., Excel and PowerPoint)
- Desired medium proficiency in Visualization and Data preparation software (e.g. Tableau, Alteryx and Adaptive)
