COMPANY OVERVIEW: MEA, named by The New York Times as "the world's first midlife wisdom school," provides in-person and online workshops where participants, together with a team of MEA facilitators, explore topics revolving around life transitions, finding purpose, and owning wisdom, underpinned by the principle that wisdom is shared, not taught. At the in-person workshops, participants experience both classroom and outdoor experiential learning, in the comfort of upscale accommodation that one could expect from a luxury boutique hotel. MEA also offers online courses and publishes e-books. MEA is a fast-growing start-up, with a remote Management Company team and two campuses with local Hospitality teams.
MEA has two customer types: individual consumers and corporate groups. The Chief Commercial Officer is responsible for both revenue channels and the VP of Client Solutions manages corporate sales.
JOB SUMMARY: The role of the Business Support Executive Assistant is critical to supporting the generation and reporting of revenue across both consumer and corporate business. They will work closely with both the Chief Commercial Officer and the VP of Client Solutions.
The role will support the Chief Commercial Officer from a general administrative support perspective with high level business duties, including calendar management and travel, planning team retreats, company data and metrics dashboard reporting, and other tasks supporting the business as a whole.
The role will support the VP of Client Solutions with proposal creation, contract execution, interfacing with Finance and Hospitality teams, client relationship management, internal communication after contract signing, programming, marketing, group enrollment, CRM interface, post workshop feedback and testimonials, keeping marketing assets and press kit up to date, and other responsibilities.
The Business Support Executive Assistant should possess a strong track record in administrative assistance and client relationship management, and possess strong skills around attention to detail, project management, verbal and written communications. This person will ideally have previous Executive Assistant experience, comfort with start-ups and remote teams, as well as a passion for driving growth and success. The ideal candidate is a strong self-starter, capable of taking direction and ownership of tasks and working independently to execute them.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of 5 years experience in a virtual assistant, customer service, revenue management or Business Support role
- Corporate experience in a professional services, consulting or marketing company
- Nimble business mind, strong project management skills, focus on creative solutions, analytics
- Collaborative working style within a results-oriented, mission-driven organization
- Personable and customer service focused, with a positive outlook
- Startup experience preferred, comfortable with nimble and fast paced, self-directed projects
- Data focused, with the ability to problem solve
- Curious about MEA as a wisdom school and pioneer of a new industry
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with team members and guests
- Proficient in the following technology tools and platforms: Google Suite, Zoom, Excel, Word, Email, CRM platforms, LinkedIn and project management systems
- Must have the ability to fluently read, write and verbally communicate in English
DUTIES:
- Administrative support for Chief Commercial Officer and VP of Client Services
- Project management support
- Ensuring organized communication, interacting closely with team members
- Manage calendar and travel logistics
- Support organization of private group programs at our workshop centers
- Sales support in the proposal creation and contract execution stages
- Client relationship support
- Programming support for retreat agendas, curriculum and activities
- Marketing support including channel building, keeping marketing assets and press kit up to date
- Data collection support including post workshop feedback and testimonials

The position is remote.
The person in this role may have to sit for long periods for eight (8) hours per day, as well as have the ability to work in a variety of environments and to stand, walk, and climb as needed. The ability to lift and move fifty pounds safely is a requirement of this position.
The team member is expected to work a minimum of 40 hours a week. The anticipated schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, 9am-5pm. Days and times may vary depending on company needs. The team member may expect calls or emails outside the regular working hours. Occasional travel may be required for learning opportunities, team meetings, or other events.
