Job Summary
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Senior Payroll Manager oversees the Payroll Team and maintains/reviews the payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including pay, taxes, mandatory reporting, garnishments, benefits, and other deductions.

Responsibilities
- Independently manage the entire payroll function, processing bi-weekly, weekly, semi-monthly multistate country payroll for a 15000+ person company with a mix of exempt and non-exempt employees
- Responsible for overseeing staff, coaching, development, and evaluations
- Develop, implement, and maintain payroll policies and procedures to ensure compliance with company policy, as well as strong internal controls
- Oversee Country/Federal/State/Local reporting requirements to maintain regulatory compliance.
- Follow proper reconciliation processes to ensure diligent and timely payroll and tax reporting for MTD, QTD, and YTD process
- Set high standards and goals within the department; by maintaining accurate payrolls, we contribute to employee satisfaction and morale, thereby lowering company attrition
- Ensure payroll correctly reflects processing of new hires, changes in base pay, variable pay, transfers, promotions, terminations and changes in exemptions and deductions
- Ensure Time and Attendance is accurately entered, submitted, and approved by managers
- Review in detail the payroll preview to identify any errors before issuing payments
Other Skills and Experiences (Min)
- 7+ years payroll processing experience
- 7+ years’ experience in processing multi country/state payroll
- 7+ years’ experience with payroll processing and Time & attendance Systems
- Must possess the ability to work with a wide variety of people with varying skill sets
- Must possess excellent interdepartmental and intradepartmental communication skills
- In-depth knowledge of federal and state tax regulations
